Official Lego Castle animations on Youtube
Official Lego Castle animations on Youtube
I wasn't sure if was the right forum, but it does contain official products and the latest stuff, but I saw these posted on eurobricks and enjoyed them, so thought it was worth a repost.
They seem to be from a chinese section of Lego's official youtube channels, but are surprisingly humorous little animations that must have taken quite a bit of effort, but also showcase the new Castle stuff, as well as drawing on a number of older sets.

Yeah, I saw these a little while before they uploaded the third part. They're pretty enjoyable and well made.

Oh man, that flag the princess flew at the end of part one almost had me busting a gut right in the middle of the office. Well played, TLG!
That actually would be a pretty neat scene to do a "proper" MOC on. Everyone focuses on "army building", but having a handful of very individualized knights is something that I've wanted to do for a long time. Perhaps that will be my next project after my exam is over
Chapter 3 reminds me of a certain villainous queen....

Yeah I've been meaning to do something next with my next shelf display. I had to take it all down so waiting for a good moment to dust it all off again and rearrange, but was wanting to do a joust/tournament involving the different knights and factions.AK_Brickster wrote: That actually would be a pretty neat scene to do a "proper" MOC on. The scoreboard thing in the video was a clever system using the shields, so might have to try and MOC something like that as well.

Mhm, something along the lines of a scene from A Knight's Tale perhaps? That'd be pretty neat. I have smaller armies of certain factions, but I really enjoy customizing minifigs to make them unique. I might to make a few sometime soon.

Just noticed these. Are there anymore? They are hilarious. Number 2 was easily my favorite.

There is another one:

But while the first 3 was almost only stopmotion - this one is pure animation.

Yes, #4 is far inferior. I was very disappointed.
Re: Official Lego Castle animations on Youtube
Likewise. I enjoyed the stop motion aspect of the first three, as well as the minute amount of dialogue, but the fourth goes in the opposite direction.AK_Brickster wrote:Yes, #4 is far inferior. I was very disappointed.

Re: Official Lego Castle animations on Youtube
For one thing, all of the videos have been made by different people. So the change, albeit less quality in story and make, kinda makes sense. I just hope the next part goes back to stop motion...
I noticed they either missed a previous twist in the story or complete disregarded what happened, because the king turned out the be the evil wizard, so why is the king suddenly in the dungeons now? It doesn't make much sense to me...

Re: Official Lego Castle animations on Youtube
I'm thinking the evil wizard must have switched places with the king before the first episode even took place, which might explain why the champion was asked to bring back the green gem in the first place.Aeridian wrote:I noticed they either missed a previous twist in the story or complete disregarded what happened, because the king turned out the be the evil wizard, so why is the king suddenly in the dungeons now? Also hoping the next episodes are stop-motion. #4 was my least favorite, but it did have at least one funny part with the kid being paid off to wave the champion's flag. #2 was laugh-out-loud funny, though! Loved the cow.
