London...

Post by Green Fox »

I will be off to london in about a week, and I need a list of (or a link to a list of) all the official LEGO shops there, if any. Also, is it worth going to LEGOLAND?

Hope you have a great time in London, lots of good sights to see. It IS worth going to Legoland windsor, I don't know how it compares to any of the others (as I haven't been to them) but you can check out my gallery here - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=79509
There are 5 stores:
Birmingham
Bluewater
Brigton
Kingston
Milton Keynes.

I have only been to Bluewater and Milton Keynes. I would recommend going to Bluewater as it is the closest to London (about an hour) but most of the others are further away so it would be harder to get to them.
Let us know how your trip is and take lots of pictures if you can!

Legoland is great, but most of the rides are aimed at the under-tens. I`m a middle aged mum and was with my kids, so was allowed to make a complete fool of myself by visibly enjoying everything. If you haven`t been to a Legoland before you`ll have fun looking at all the stuff built from Lego, and Miniland is great for spotting all the famous world landmarks.

It`s possibly a bit uncool if you`re in your teens but I wouldn`t let that stop you. The shop is OK...nothing that spectacular, but there is a Pick-a-Brick.

Don`t go on a weekend if possible. And if you look at the website for Legoland Windsor then you can check out special events and discounts. I used Tesco vouchers to get my passes for 75% discount, but I don`t know if you have Tesco where you are (Belfast yes?) and if you`d have time to get them through the post now.

The one in Billund sometimes has light grey and all the new armor from KKII then Bricks4you goes there and there are no more castle parts at Billund.

I'm not sure what the Windor PAB will have in stock as it is over a year since I went.
If you're looking for more information on the stores check out this link - http://www.lego.com//legostores/
Hope this helps.
