It is the new girl elf they invented for the Hobbit movie. The one they keep hinting that there is some kind of relationship between her and Legolas, but that is in doubt too. Anyway, it is hard to tell she is the one, but she's in there. The only soldier without a hood.

I believe the female elf you're referring to is Tauriel, and she is in the Mirkwood spiders set. She has orange hair. I think the elf in the new army set is just a generic male elf, as it is not named on the box.

Well then...Yay! It isn't such a wow set. It is definitely all about the figs. But there are some nice pieces in it. Not such a wow build. I like the shields.

I'm enjoying the Lake Town Chase more. I LOVE those two shields with the whales on them. The boat isn't a wow, but hey..it's a boat.

I am very annoyed that they didn't do an armored elf with a helmet (like we see in the trailers) for that set. A couple of those instead of the hooded guys and I would have bought a bunch of these.

Tauriel = chick elf? Because Tauriel is not in that set, she is in the mirkwood spiders set.

Well the dark brown warg...I must have. So yes, I bought the Mirkwood Elf Army. And if you know me, you can wake up from your faint now. :P

And I bought the Lake Town Chase...the pirate in me just couldn't let it sit on the shelf.

Which...gave me some free poster that I haven't unrolled yet. But I'm going to assume it is a hobbit lego poster. I guess there are perks to going to the LEGO store to buy such sets.

And I got the free holiday box for pab too.

So over all...this was a pleasant shopping experience...especially since I went to a very much girly girl store before. :halo:

Once I build them, I will have more comments to make. But I think my new sigfig should have a pet dark brown warg, for chomping at will...kind of like my pet shark at the Cove.

Wow, from the pictures I've seen, those whale shields look pretty sick. I'll definitely use them for one of my knights, maybe even my sigfig. I plan to get the set today, so I can get the poster. Can you give us some photos from the lake town chase, especially the whale shields?

Wow you are so lucky bluesecrets! Can you please post pictures, so we can see them up close?

I for one am really liking the Mirkwood army set, as it comes with so many elves, and a brown warg! Does the set actually come with decent pieces?

There are plenty of pictures / reviews of the new sets already online, so you should be able to find pictures of them easy enough without Blue having to post them.

Here are the TBB reviews of Mirkwood Elf Army and Lake Town, respectively.

Laketown was not at all interesting to me when they first released it. I was going to buy one just to own the set on display. However the more reviews I see, the more I like it.

I'm not going to pay full price for it. In fact, depending on how prices shake out once it hits the resale market, I'll probably just Brick Link the interesting bits. I have enough brown already :P

Lake town and mirkwood are definitely on my must have list. Mirkwood for those nice dark green hoods(I can imagine using those for some rangers apprentice figs), the shields, tan pieces, and leaf pieces. Lake town for bard, Bilbo, and thorins hair(my archers are bareheaded), the boat, the whale shields, and various other parts. The problem is, while my family is living in England for a year, I can't get any more lego, as we have enough lego already to stuff what little space we have in our suitcases left. So when I get back I'm just going to have to have a huge lego shopping spree. Although might getting the kingdoms chess for Xmas. :eyebrows:

I got all the sets save Laketown chase. I really like the Dol Guldur sets a lot but the Mirkwood elf set is rather poor. The Elf King is a nice figure, the shield are ok and a brown warg is good to have, but the elves have a so so torso and identikit faces and the build itself produced nothing worthwile unless you like extremely short walls and very fat trees with catapults designed to launch elves in them. Basically it's a fairly ordinary army building set with a few nice tan parts and leaf pieces.

They had a big pile of Laketown Guard polys at my TRU, so I bought a few more to get up to a few dozen.

If you don't value them in sealed condition, I recommend selling the poly's for $10-12 each and then turn around and buy the Lake Town fig for $6-7.

My TRU had a bunch of the polys as well. Probably 30+

I don't think the demand for this one is going to be as high as the Mirkwood Elf, but I could be wrong. I bought 5 more and left the rest.
