I always thought it was a thing for australian kids who lived in the bush :?
There's not much to read into it beyond the name: instead of going to an established school, education is done privately, usually at home and usually by the child's parent (if it is not the parent or group of parents, it's usually refered to as "privately tutored"). Standards vary from community to community - I have no idea about the particulars in any given area. The reasons for home schooling vary, but looking over the other locked thread, I think that is a subject best left to lugnet.off-topic.debate and I will not pass judgment here. What any of this really truly has to do with Lego, Idunno - perhaps people just like to understand other people. :D

Thanks for your explanation.
I only know about one case of "homeschooling",and that was about a familie who had a seagoing yacht. They teached their children when making a trip around the world. (But that was outside the Duch borders, ofcourse).
And as soon as they were back, they went back to the public schoolsystem.

Okay, it has nothing to do with LEGO. But I would like to know something about my LEGO-friends around the world.
It gives the hobby a kind of "background".
So, nevertheless, it is maybe a tiny little related to LEGO as well :?: :?:
