Community Window Builds
Since the number of LEGO stores is getting rather large, I figure it might be nice if we have a thread to show off the windows we see that we think are cool. Or more importantly show off our work in them. So, here is a lovely thread.

Re: Community Window Builds
My three have not been Castle, but I am still proud of them so if you are interested, here are the links:
My latest. I love studs up mosaics and have since I made those two tapestries for CCC once. I've been bouncing around the idea of this MOC for a year. I kept the beach simple to show off the sunset, on purpose.

Last month, I put together what I had been collecting to build for 5 years. It isn't exactly what I wanted to do, so I'm sure I will revisit my undersea world, but I need to gather more, and work on a couple of ideas.

And my first, which didn't fill the window as much as I wanted but was pirate-y delicious.

Re: Community Window Builds
Hey,
I don't often get to my nearest LEGO store (King of Prussia, PA) since it's over an hour away, but yesterday I was over that way on business and stopped in. An unidentified PennLUG member has this up currently. Presumably this is by Kreativ Snail as it includes that snail that is her signature. Fun details like the Wampa vs Cave Troll beach vollyball, a shirtless but still cow-wearing Batman splashing the Hulk, and an Uruk Hai building a sand-castle Orthanc. Also I like how she put in a sky backdrop and that plane, as often MOCs don't utilize the vertical space of those windows very well.

This one is a bit old, but here is my MOC that was displayed in the Bellevue, WA store last spring (2012):

Here is my new community window:

Yes there is a slight issue, I took the picture when I could and had a flower and stem sitting in the water. That is of course fixed now. My lesson for the day...don't change out the Community Window on a Sunday...it was a zoo there.

Re: Community Window Builds
How do you get to display your creations at the LEGO store? Do you have to ask them? Do you have to be part of a LUG?

Re: Community Window Builds
Starting with the local LUG is the best place to start. Our window is completely arranged by the LUG. I don't know if that is how other store's windows are done. Inside the window should be a little plague with which LUG built the current display. You will know who to contact based on that. I hope that helps you.mpoh98 wrote:How do you get to display your creations at the LEGO store? Do you have to ask them? Do you have to be part of a LUG?
Re: Community Window Builds
Ah, ok, I see. Thanks Bluesecrets! I guess this means I should join a local LUG....

Re: Community Window Builds
Just completed this 5-day emergency build in order to switch out the window in the Raleigh store. (our group had a gap in the schedule that we didn't realize until the end of July!).
