Octapice: Federation Command HQ

Postby Louie le Brickvalier » Thu Apr 03, 2014 12:54 pm

Ahhh... It's refreshing to post in these forums again; even if I am not even posting a Castle creation!

During the first era of the Space colonization the first leaders of the newly formed Federation looked for location in the galaxy where they could "set up base camp." Much to everyone's surprise, the lava-filled planet of Octa seemed to be the most logical solution. With new heat-resistant building technology, the lava played no effect to the building of the headquarters. The pioneers built a home they could be proud of they called it Octapice.

Many years have passed since the building of Octapice and the Federation was now in the second era. New technologies has arose and bigger and better command centers were built. Octapice has become outdated and has now succumbed to the position of a small, outdated spaceship airport. Most spaceships these days are too large for the small landing areas at Octapice which in turn makes new ship landings of the rarity.

So this is what becomes when I get bored and want to try something new. The new Home Sweet Home contest gave me an idea. There's something so very attractive about the Classic-Space color theme and I know many people have a special place in their heart for it. I hope you find that I captured its essence fair enough.

More pictures and full annotations can be found on my MOCPage.

Best,

I really like the look of this. It looks so simple yet has so much life to it. Job well done ;)

Very cool. Though it looks like there are a couple of tiny TARDISes (TARDI?) up on the cliff.
