Trivel Castle
Wow, I can't believe my log in info still works!
Howdy Everyone. I've been on a building hiatus for the last few years as I was finishing some non-lego career related stuff. I even sold the bulk of my collection to make room in the house and wondered if lego was something I would go back to. But building is just a part of me, even if I do tend to have long stretches of inactivity.
With that in mind, my most recent creation is a reflection of my building habits. I tend to build for a while, then leave it for a few weeks, then come back. So I wanted a long term project that I could keep coming back to. I started Trivel Village about three years ago. Most recently I completed the village castle. As most will notice, the castle is modular: the gate, tower, main hall, etc., are all distinct buildings without true locking connections. This will give me the ability in the future to keep adding to the structure instead of breaking the whole thing down. This also helps me because if there are parts of the castle I don't like, the structure as a whole will not have to be renovated just the module I dislike or have improved. I was inspired by my LUGmates who have a modular approach to make our city layout always growing.

Great that you started building again, this is quite impressive! Love the Village Castle! Great idea for making it modular!

Re: Trivel Castle
Seeing form your account sign-up date you have been here way before my time!
I really like these builds. the village scene is nice and well laid out. Very interesting mix of mythological and real characters.
The castle is great I think! Very smooth overall presentation, not very cluttered and a good balance of the red roofs and gray walls. I also really like its unconventional, semi-roundish shape. Gives a nice courtyard in the middle. I hope to see more form you!
Happy Building,
Sir Valiant~

Hey,
Just merging these two topics because I jumped the gun and posted this before Felix got a chance to do so himself.
