Medieval History Timelines

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

I'm happy to introduce a new feature here at CC, Medieval History Timelines. Actually, it's not new, I've been working on this for ages, and I've got tons of things bookmarked to add, but at some point I just had to make an official announcement. These timelines link to MOCs that recreate events, people, places, and art/literature from the castle era. A few notes:

-I've made the time range from 476 (fall of Rome) to 1666 (Great Fire of London), as that has been the range we've used in past contests.
-I indicated January 1 for those events without a specific known date. Timetoast (the site I used to create the timelines) requires a month and day.
-I located people at the year of their birth and buildings at the year that construction began.
-Any errors are my own (or, I suppose, Wikipedia's) - please PM me with any corrections.

Please let me know of any historical MOCs I'm missing. As I said, I do have a ton of additional things bookmarked, so if I have yet to include your creation I apologize.

I am no historian so I can't check for errors. I'll leave that to those who are.

Thank you Bruce...these are amazing resources. The time you spent needs to be appreciated. You are awesome.

That's really cool! Must have taken ages to link all the MOVe like that. Will come back for a better look when I'm not on my phone.
Less talking, more MOCing.

Does the interactive timeline work on your phone or other mobile device? It just comes up as a blank box on my iPhone.

This timeline is a real history lesson! Congratulations for your magnificent work linking MOCs and organizing the information to all AFOLs.
I shared the project here in LUG Brazil to all members enjoy and learn more about it. Count on me!

Bruce, I can see the titles on my iPhone but there is just white space beneath each one. The mobile version definitely isn't working properly.
