Seed Part Challenge: June-July - winner named

Post by Bluesecrets »

What is a seed part challenge?
It's where a part is named and you get to build with it in the most creative way you possibly can. The more creative the better. Seed parts are all about creativity and fun. So please have some fun.

What are the rules?
1) Build something super creative with the seed part that is castle.
2) Make sure we can see the seed part. It can be any color and as many as you want to use.
3) There are no building restrictions other than it needs to be castle and no custom parts.
4) There are no size restrictions.
5) There are no photo restrictions other than when you post them to the forum you need to follow the forum rules.
6) You can enter twice if you want to.
7) You have until July 31st 11:59 am EST (server time).
8. You need to place your entry in the entry thread.
9) Anyone can build who isn't part of the judging.

There are three possible prizes. The winner will get to pick which army of five classic figs they would like. These being: black falcons, wolfpack, or crusader lion.
If there are enough entries, a second and third place will be named and the second place will get to pick from the remaining two armies and the third place will get the last army. See below for a small picture and a link to a big picture of these armies.

What happens if we don't have the piece :raiseone: ? I don't think I could acquire it any time soon either, sadly... :(

This contest is about the use of that piece. If your entry doesn't have the seed part, it will not be judged. Maybe you could trade with someone to get one.

May I convert my photo to black-and-white using image-editing software?

Sure but a full color one would also be needed. The color one won't hurt your entry, neither will a black and white one. I just find that with color I see more details than with black and white.

Is that an acceptable solution? If not we can discuss it in private messages and I could be swayed to change that answer.

The prizes are so good, I might have to come out of the shadows to do something for this one :)

There will be one prize and one winner. The plan was if we got 10 entries, I would give 2 prizes and if we got 15 entries..I would give three. We got eight.

Judging will be completed by Sunday. Sorry for the short delay.

After a week of attempting to judge this, it has been done.

But before I announce the winner, we need to talk about a seed part challenge. It is all about the use of the seed part and the creativity in which it is used. The seed part usage gets twice or three times as many points as the actual build does. A great seed part usage can be totally lost in a huge build that you can't actually see the part.

This one was close. It came down to two entries, both separated by one point. I wish there had been two more entries so I could award both prizes. I still may decide the other entry may get a prize. I'm debating that. But for now...our winner is:

Maedhros, please contact me with the information needed to ship to you and your choice of army.

Congratulations Maedhros! I think his seed part usage was the most clever hands down. I never would have thought to build a windmill with a whip! :)

Woah, thanks! I'm glad my little windmill received such appreciation. I'm afraid I'll have to work on something to actually catch the wind though ;)

Congrats Maedhros! Now you have the tough choice of deciding between all those wonderful classic figs :woo:
