Hey,

Good picture of all (I assume) of the figs from this line:

Oh man, I am so excited for this new line! The bad guys are really cool. The baddie with wings will make a perfect Daemon Prince for my evil armies...

I can't say I like any of the knights but all the bad guys are quite awesome actually, especially the twisted jester, the winged lord and that lava guy (?) with the huge hands. Also, I'm struck by a bit of nostalgic love for that old wolfpack hood making a return.

I watched the first two episodes of the TV show last night. It was, actually, not terrible. Still not into the sets, but I may watch the show.

I agree with Maedhros. The good guy futuristic knights do not much for me (other than the king and queen), but the bad guy lava dudes have real possibilities, in particular, the black mini-balrog (I don't know what his Lego-given name is). I doubt I'll buy any sets, but I suspect some Bricklink shops will get some of my cash.

So I got the Nexo Knights set 70313 last night. I have to say I was more pleased than I thought I would be. There were a lot of interesting and new parts. Some were castle, some were space, ...and and some I have no use for :? . I absolutely LOVE the lava dude (Moltor)! The knight was very spacey though. Overall I was very happy. I would say to anyone who is on the fence about this theme to just get one set and give it a try. IMO this theme is about as castle/has as many castle elements as the Elves, Monster Hunters, or Chima themes.

Summary:
Buy them for parts. Theme is otherwise pretty much stand alone.

Hey,

Old news by now, but these are now on the shelves in Barnes and Nobles stores (at least here in New Jersey). I haven't been in a Target, Toys R Us, or WalMart yet to see if they are there yet. Pics are here.

They have hit shelves in Toys R Us in Canada, I picked up a couple sets the other day. I am enjoying these much more than I thought I would. And the figs are great!

I haven't gotten any yet, but my local Target (Middle of Nowhere, Michigan, USA) has had them for about a week.

I have mixed feelings about the set designs, but the figures look incredible.

I've gotten the ultimates of Lavaria and Beastmaster and the set with Moltor. I couldn't care less about the Nexo Knights, but the villains are perhaps the closest thing to a continuation of fantasy-era castle there's been so far. I even got a Power Miners Eruptorr-huge-lava-monster guy off Amazon to add to the lava-land faction. Pretty cool.

Funnily I got Lavaria and the Beastmaster too a few days ago. They indeed fit in quite nicely into fantasy and even star wars-themes and just look pretty d*mn cool, which is the reason I got them

The "good guys" on the other hand look too brightly coloured to me. Black and red just works much better together than blue, white and orange.

All in all its not a real replacement for a proper medieval-theme, but better than none really. Since the hobbit line did fail pretty hard on the market it doesn't seems that we get anything like that any time soon.

Hey guys, I've been followin this thread with interest and noticed no news has been comin in for a couple of weeks.

I'm the more interested in this given the other discussions about the castle theme bein in decline.

Has anyone else bought NK sets? How are u findin em?

Also, does anyone know how the general public is reactin to this line so far? Is it havin success or? Can we foresee a future for this line?

I must say, personally, the mix-up with space just spoils the whole thing, so I'm totally against it  and I actually hope for a return of proper castle, but hey I'm kinda purist after all, so ye.. :P

I think u see my point here.. ^^

Hey,

The Nuremberg Toy Fair gave us the first official look at a lot of things that will be coming out this year. TheBrickFan has a full post here and Brickset posted images of the four upcoming Nexo Knights sets on display.

Some interesting stuff there. I'd be curious to see someone redo the big Jestro's Volcano Lair set without all of the trans-orange elements.

I haven't gotten any of the new sets yet myself, but have been interested in some of the new pieces. Several people have posted high-quality photos of some of these. Click the links to get full size images.

From the Brothers Brick review:

From Gnaat Lego:
Here you can see the inner workings of that new book part:

And here's a book assembled:

I'm sure the grey piece and the blue piece will be really useful as "behind-the-scenes" elements to put together tricky connections.

Once again, I want like a thousand of these new quadruple slope pieces in gray/dark gray/black.

Smart_as_a_brick calls this the best new piece. I'd say the quadruple slope, but can certainly see why some might go with this:

Hey,

I didn't see this myself, but @NexoPowers (presumably a corporate shill account) tweeted this Easter egg from the Nexo Knights Fortrex. The banners feature the number 375-6075. No, this isn't Susan Williams' phone number*, it's a reference to the Yellow Castle set numbers.

The math geek in me would have been so excited if the pattern in the dots were a binary representation of these numbers, like we've seen hidden messages in runes and heiroglyphics on sets in the past, but I'm pretty sure they're just dots.

Bruce

*If you get that reference, congratulations, you're old like me and can tell those darn kids to get off your lawn. If you don't get that reference, look it up**; it's LEGO history.
**Hey, I looked it up and I learned something. In Germany, Susan Williams was Paul Pudel.
