Introduce your sig-fig

Post by Bruce N H »

Hi all,

Many of us have sig-figs, minifig representations of ourselves we use as forum avatars or put into MOCs. In the past we have occasionally had sig-fig photoshoots at cons, like this one from 2013 or this one from 2011

Minifig month is a great time to celebrate your sig-fig. Please share a pic and introduce us to mini-you.

I'll start the ball rolling with my own. Please meet my ABS representation, the Precentor of the Scriptorium. I love being surrounded by books, and if I were around in the middle ages, I think I'd be one of those monks copying books by hand (that room was called a scriptorium and the head monk was the precentor).

Here he is hard at work in a vignette:

BTW, here's the same sig-fig in modern clothes, still surrounded by books:

This brings back some very fun memories!
My sigfig in an outdated picture that was the easiest to find quickly:

And we love sneaking your sigfig into builds, Bruce:

I'm honored! BTW, in both of those MOCs you have shields flush against the wall. How did you do that? Are those 1x2 panels with the shields fitting over them?

Correct, and then a 1x4 arch over top usually.

I remember those pictures. Good times, good times.

My sigfig, well, it's a long story. It all started when my dad made a wooden shield for me when I was just a wee lad. I wanted an elephant as the animal to be represented on it. fast forward many years, about 2005 I believe, I made a Brickshelf account. When trying to come up with a name, that shield must have been on my mind, for I believe I had also made stickers for a faction of little Elephant Knights, so I choose Elephant Knight as my moniker there.

My first sigfig was a slightly modified soldier form the Yellow castle, as I was very big into that back then. Seen here on the transition
Then one day at work, I realized how I could make an elephant head for a minifig. And the basic design for that head has remained remarkable unchanged since then.

A few years ago I gave him an update during that year's CCC. He is now considered the Castle sigfig, as there are all multiple sigfigs for various themes, all vying for top spot.

Look over there
<------

She is my sigfig...Castle Edition 2.0. I used to have this green one but...I have been named the queen of Tan so she needed to be...tan. I also wear a lot of black. No I am not goth. Black just matches with almost everything...except other black. But I digress.

She is standing in the Kingdom of Bacon because well...who wouldn't want to live in the Kingdom of Bacon?

She has this wicked awesome sword because...it is chromed in silver and I really like shiny things...especially silver shiny things. The irony of this is...I am a pacifist and would never use a sword but apparently my sigfig does. Yes, it is a Brickarms sword. LEGO hasn't made a sword yet that I like enough. Well I do have that trans clear zword but it just doesn't work for this sigfig.

I don't tend to use her in my builds often. She is in my she-she-er-she shed. I have a photo of her with baby Groot (aww I love me some baby Groot) and doing the ice bucket challenge. I guess I just forget to add her to builds. But I also haven't been building a lot of castle lately. Not because I don't want to...but I have other things I need to build for LUG stuff.

Rhalyf the Wanderer

Not much is known about Rhalyf, except that he travels alone and has the skills and abilities to take care of himself even in hostile environments.

Rhalyf finds himself drawn to the south and to Kaliphlin:

Mikkel Winter-Stone is my castle sigfig. He's a crossbow engineer and adventurer hailing from a faraway land known as Mitgardia.
