Colossal Castle Contest 18

The Classic-Castle Admins are pleased to announce our eighteenth annual building contest: The Colossal Castle Contest XVIII! Our contest begins on November 8th and ends on January 10th, 2021.

The contest is designed to offer building opportunities for castle fans with small and large collections of brick. We have many new categories this year plus popular fan favorites of the past like Custom Castle Figure and Festivals and Celebrations.

Check out the prizes. A variety of new castle and holiday themed sets are included!

Thank you to several anonymous donors for donating prizes for this contest. Please contact the admins if you are interested in donating to next year's CCC. The contest rules can be found here. Enjoy!

The submit an entry portion of the contest will not be ready for one to two weeks of this announcement. We expect you will need time to build for the categories. Good luck!

Contest questions can be posted in this thread. Remember to check the thread to see if you question has already been answered.
It may take us a few days to answer a question, especially if it is a complicated one needing review by all of the admins. Thank you for understanding.

I'm excited for the contest! Great job with the categories; I cannot wait to see the entries (and submit a few of my own).

Woohoo! Some nice categories for us this year. :D

Question: What is the legality of non-LEGO string and fabric (outside of the Custom Castle Figure category) for things like ship rigging, sails, dragon wings, etc.?

Hello everybody, greetings from Germany!

Count me in again this year! Didn't have enough time to participate last year and this time it will be difficult again, nontheless I'll try to contribute a few MOC's. The first one is already finished, this year I chose to start with the fairy taile category.

I like the contest, I like this year's categories very much and there's nothing better than traditional castle-building in the holiday season:-) I'm also kind of eager to put something together, even if I feel a little rusty, since I was quite "LEGO-lazy" this year and missed the "Sumer Joust" once again...

So let's have fun everybody, I'm already looking forward to your MOC's!

I'm not sure yet if I'll enter this year, but I'm definitely considering... what's the word on scale for this year's categories? Is it minifigure scale all around, or are there any for which we're allowed to go bigger or smaller?

The scale is minifigure but you can incorporate microscale for forced perspective. All scales are ok in the misc. category.

Thanks!

The "Submit an Entry" and "View Entries" pages cannot be found. 404 Not Found error. Can anyone please fix this?

Edit: The pages can NOT be accessed over the "rules" page, ONLY over the "prizes" page.

This might keep people from participating.

Dear admins,

it seems that the links are not the same:

- good case (access over prizes)
http://www.classic-castle.com/events/ccc/vi ... t=cccxviii
http://www.classic-castle.com/events/ccc/su ... t=cccxviii

- bad case
http://www.classic-castle.com/events/contes ... /index.php
http://www.classic-castle.com/events/contes ... ntries.php

Hope that helps!

Cheers,
Adam

Will any more submitted entries be posted to the 'view entries' page today before the contest closes? A couple people in my LUG who has submitted are wondering why their entries are not appearing (and I've submitted a few that haven't shown up). Thanks!

I apologize for my running silent. I had a family emergency that has turned into an on-going-life changing event. My time is not my own anymore. And what little time I have to myself, I am beyond exhausted and have to actually do stuff like laundry and other boring stuff.

I have set aside this evening to try and get everything as cleaned up as I can for this contest.

Step 1 has been completed - that is all new memberships that I can prove to be a real person have been approved.

Step 2 - I will be approving contest entries. - I have approved all but 11 entries.

Step 3 - If you end up on the naughty list, I will try to get to that tonight, if not, tomorrow. And I will contact you here, flickr, or email.

I was admitted into the classic castle world today...just days after the deadline for the colossal contest...any chance of accepting a late entry?
