Re: Falkborg Castle
Sweet layout! I really like the Tudor sections and particularly the tower.
Re: Falkborg Castle
Wow, what's not to love in this scene??
Globally, the colours are very well chosen and all elements are nicely highlighted. The castle is absolutely gorgeous - I especially love how the arch and courtyard pavement are decorated. The main tower is very elegant and nicely detailed, and the woodland area looks indimidating enough.
The video is very instructive too - and very funny! Great to see the animals included in the credit rolls...and I did watch it until the Fin!

Re: Falkborg Castle
Thanks mrcp6d and Aurore,
I had to include some Tudor aspects and used colours that would fit very well with the black falcons.
And also the whole balance of colour was something I found very important in designing the castle as well as the suroundings.
@Aurore, yes when I was making the credit roll, I thought, might as well include all the animals.

A most excellent castle. I like all the story elements you included around the castle. The way you did the sections/modules was very interesting.

Re: Falkborg Castle
@jtooker, I always try to include some story elements to my builds, it makes them more dynamic.
For bigger builds I mostly build in sections/modules, it makes it easier to build and change some details while building it, also positioning stuff like minifigures is easier that way.
I added two additional pictures today, the main view and a top view, to better see the castle and the surroundings.

Re: Falkborg Castle
Another really solid build. I love the tudor sections, the round tower, the ways you were able to connect the round 1x1 columns using the rounded 1x2 plates (genius!), and all of the mini storylines throughout the build.
Common theme, feedback-wise, is that there's just a few too many colors/patterns/textures being used for my taste. If you simplify your color palette a little bit, I think the individual elements of your build will find a little more room to "breath", and your builds will really rise to another level, in my book.
Keep up the good work!

Re: Falkborg Castle
Thanks AK_Brickster for all your detailed comments.
To give some perspective, this is really my first big castle MOC that is a complete castle, this meant I had to use a consistent palette for the whole castle, and also meant I had to find a balance between the bricks I had (and how much bricks I had to buy) to give it a consistent feeling. I understand that it makes it a bit busy, but it cannot be helped unless I make it smaller or buy more bricks for a consistent color scheme (and on photos it looks somewhat worse than in real life...).
Next time, I will consider both though, thanks for the feedback on this and other MOCs.
