Okay, sorry brik traker, but many of my other hobbies have caused me to disbeleive what I see on the internet. Perhaps a picture comparing to a definate green lego piece?

edit: because the green doesn't appear to match lego green.

Well, in this picture http://www.briktrak.com/images/rareparts/Comparison.jpg, the torso and the legs are green just like the helmet. I agree it does look a little dark compared to LEGO green, but that was because the photo was taken in a rush. If you are really interested, then I guess I could take more/better pictures though.

Hey, are those minifig torch pieces (The ones with the bracket for a flame on top) rare? I know they come in red and black, but I've never seen one in a set...

Wondering about the next day
But after three mugs of ale

You're jesting I hope.

That piece comes with two Dark Forest sets, a bunch of Diver sets, and one Episode I Star Wars sets, and possibly a few others.

It isn't rare at all.

Well, maybe it's rare to see it used as a whip. :P

Haha... well, I guess my pathetic collection of lego is based more on quantity rather than quality(rarity) :D This is my list:

Forestmen River Baseplate 1 (why is this rare?)
Black Bird 1
Princess from 6081 1

ok... you can laugh now...

Red ghosts, green helmets, what's next light blue armor?

Those are very interesting. I suppose there are many such examples throughout Lego.

There's quite a lot of them indeed.

While preparing for the Millyard Project in Manchester, NH, we got to look around briefly at the Mater Builder's workshop in Enfield. As you can imagine there were quite a few rare or totally unreleased items in there that we got to see, and I'm sure there have been MANY more over the years.

In general, when you see a piece in a color it wasn't released from, it's a good bet it came from someone inside the company, handing it off to a friend or acquaintence as a "neat little rarity". Occasionally recently there have also been unreleased color/parts in the "bonus tubs" through TRU, and through Pick-A-Brick stores near various LegoLands (Denmark's is reportedly the best), but these are likely to be more commonly available through things like BrickLink.

I've seen quite a number of these sorts of things in the posession of several different AFOLs, and it's always a treat to see. But I've learned that 9 times out of 10, if the person says it's genuine Lego, they're probably right. Just be sure to check it's not April Fool's day :)
