Please... give KK a chance... remember, many of you are AFOLs... these are for my age... Except I'll always like it probably.

I, for one, am giving KK2 a chance. There are several pluses about it, but there are MANY issues with the theme. It is not that we AFOLs are so hung up about the "golden years". It is more that if Lego castle started with KK2, most of us wouldn't be involved with Lego now (or we would be spacers). So don't take people's criticisms personally. It is alright for you to like it and I applaud you for standing up for what you like. But don't feel bad when other people here state their differing opinions.SirBardatheBuilder wrote:Please... give KK a chance... remember, many of you are AFOLs... these are for my age... My 2 cents worth,
Josh (who just bought his first KK2 set and loved Vladek's armor and barding, but hated the swords)
AFOL and his money are easily parted.

Is this a bad thing though? Honestly, why not use an effective setting over and over again? There's nothing wrong with that.[/quote]TheOrk wrote:...I agree with him. In the kk2 online comic the scene with the moorlands is a knock off of Mordor if ever there was one.
I didnt say there was anything wrong with it. I just said they obvisoly got it from LOTR.
Can you please say which kind of paint you are using.I've never had so many euro armor before and so I spray painted Danju's.
My brother painted some LEGO and the results were terrible. Because the LEGO wasnt shiney and it got scratched easily.

The Moorlands are a barren setting if anything... whats more horrific than that?

I personaly like kk2 it has useful parts, has helmets and euro armor, and best of all It's LEGO Castle. I don't care how bad set designs are if it's LEGO castle nothing is better.
As to what the topic is all about. I agree with you. It would be great if TLC would produce some Moorland sets. I really like the shadow Knights

I agree about that. We need more Shadow Knights! There are only four in the entire series!

If the sets to come offer a dark wizard, gargoyles and rogue knights I think I'll be satisfied. I would like to see more Shadow Knights though. They spoke of a Dark Fortres... Vladreks home? Or his new home? Maybe we'll get like 2 shadow knights 2 gargoyles, wizard and vladrek all in one set. I'd be happy.

Dreams are only unrealized realities.
I agree... the future could be very bright for KK2 with our hero's traveling into mordor these days...
But I can't help but wonder... why aren't there any Morcian soldiers? I mean, are you tellin' me that 4 knights protect the kindom... ehh... good thing I have 3 of each jelly belly and only 3 shadow knights..
But i don't really DISLIKE KK2 yet, either.... although this will be the first time I don't hope to buy every set in a castle theme (that joust... not for me), I do think the siege tower is kinda cool, and like everyone has said, the current bad guys are pretty sweet.

The moorlands sound like they might be a good idea. Probably lots of grey, black, and red. Maybe some tan baseplates, but looking at the first KK2 sets, we probably wont get many regular baseplates at all. Also, it would be nice to get a lot of shadow knights without jelly beans. But, what if it turned out that the moorlands were in actuallality where the black falcons, crusaders, and black knights live? Couple rereleases should do the trick.

There are many other Knights and Provinces. But our story focuses on them because they are on a quest.ottoatm wrote:I agree... the future could be very bright for KK2 with our hero's traveling into mordor these days...

OK, here's what I think:
After purchasing the VAK (Vladek Attack Kit) a few months ago I've overthought my views on the whole line. Though I think that the mini figs are not half as good as KKI and they do not stand a chance at all against the figs of classic castle I think they have some good parts, like the armor and faces.
KKII set design is below any criticism, from a strictly realistic perspective. And also from a classic castle perspective these sets are bad. As for the pieces, well the big premolded chunks of plastic we could all do without but extra pluses must be awarded for some oieces like the new bridge with actual strings and so on.
We have to see the big picture, obviously tlc has joined the trend created by the LOTR-movies and Harry Potter books. Fantasy is the thing at the moment, wich has resulted in this line.
On the other hand, the Duplo castle line looks farely realistic, so let's hope tlc brings it to the bigger scene (and the smaller scale:D)
And of course Moorland is Mordor..surprised?
joel.
