New Color for the Yellow Castle

Post by Glencaer »

Everyone loves the original, the Yellow Castle (Image)
- but many people suggest a color other than yellow.

What Color do you think it should be?

Dark grey or brown, either would make for bulk parts.
Dark grey is definatly my favorite, rustic old hewn stone look.

Hey,

There was some discussion on Lugnet of this when 375 came up as a possible Legend. Yaron Dori L-Draw'ed (L-Drew?) it in various colors:

Also, I found that Duncan Titmarsh did it in RL in tan:

Although I voted light grey, if TLG would only reissue this set if they could use dark grey or tan blocks, I could live with that :D

If the lego company actually does release this set in a different color, I suppose I would like tan, for a couple of reasons.
1. Since the original was in yellow, this would be close to that, but would still look more 'realistic'. (at least to me.)
2. That much tan would be great for so many other projects, like woodshops, adobe houses (for those in the southwest), bales of hay, small huts.
3. After reading some of the other posts here, if it were in tan, it would make a great desert castle.

The greys are certainly good substitutes. I'd definitely would like to see dark grey replacing the yellow pieces.
I like Cup Ramen! What I like even more is the Ramen from the Ichiraku that Iruka Sensei bought me. What I dislike is waiting the three minutes for the Cup Ramen to cook. My hobby is eating lots of Cup Ramen!

Have to agree with you there, dark or light grey would make this set a must buy. If it was re-released in yellow I might buy one, but if it was light or dark grey, I would definitely purchase multiple copies. It is nice to speculate and wish for a new color, but unless Lego Direct does another poll like they did for the Legends, I doubt a color change is too likely, it is nice to dream though.
