For $4.25, you get a soldier, some swords and hatchets, a horse, and some wagon wheels. It's better than a lot of the stuff Lego has come out with lately, but it's still been done much better than this.

I'd rather have a lion torso.

A decent cart, although as noted by Webrain, there are only so many generic carts one can handle before they cease to have any major interest.
That said, this is still a pretty good cart, what with three real weapons (none of MY Castle figs get armed with a fireman's hatchet), a decent fig (some of you want faction-specific. I say that generic means I don't need a sticker). I am annoyed though, that it fails to come with a saddle for the horse.
Parts: 7/10
Playability: 6/10
Figs/Accessories: 7.5/10
Design (then): 7.5/10
Design (now): 8.5/10
Nostalgia: 7/10
Overall Score: 7.25/10

Hmm... well, I guess I will take the less popular side of these reviews, because I really like this cart. I like the pipes, or whatever they are on the top, it gives it a rustic look... does that make sense? I dunno... this cart is different than the rest to me - it looks very utilitarian and not so flashy - I can see it going through the ranks of a Crusader army arming the soldiers as they prepare for battle.

Knight's Arsenal was one of my least favorite castle sets when I was growing up. I recieved a couple of copies from relatives who did not ask each other which sets I already had. Mainly the piece selection bothered me. The hose pieces, 4x4 black boat base, and non-rotating horse hitching were not as usefull as pieces in other carts. However, some people really like the piece selection for space mocs. Finally, I really dislike the knight armor torso minifigure with the flared helm. I think a generic soldier would have worked better here and also in 6039 Twin Arm Launcher.
All of this being said, I would like to defend some of the better points of this set. It is only one of two castle sets to have hatchets. Any variety to castle weaponry is good, even if these are leftovers from firemen sets. In addition, at the time of release many places in the US did not have alot of cart sets. Sets like 6011, 6055, and 6023 were not available everywhere in the USA so many of us only had 6022 and 6010.
This was a good filler set in your kingdom but its downfall is a lack of quality sub models due to overspecialized pieces.

I am usually a big fan of the older castle sets, but the designers didn't do a good job with this one. This just isn't a very good cart. The pipes look completely out of place to me, and the set in general just seems kind of tossed together.
Lego has produced several carts better than this one, and although it does come with a lot of weapons and a fig for a cheap price, it could have been done much better.
3 of 10.

May not be the best set, but its quite good for towns, and I could need more weapons- hatchets also makes perfect throwing axes! Im not too keen on the soldier's cuirass, since I got 12 black knights when I was a kid, who all had a black cuirass like that one. I would be very happy if I got one more lion shield- I got 2 blue and 1 yellow only! But if it existed today it would be common, so no extra points for that. The tubes are spacy, agreed, but I think this wagon looks good with them.
Overall, good stock with hatchets (throwing axes or milita weapons). Still I would like to see some extra shields too. An ok cart. Good use of spacy tubes.
3/5
Perhaps Im too happy today

This is just the sort of nonsense up with which I will not put.

.... The first time that I saw this set was during 1988. I didn't bought it, I don't remember why exactly. I find it a good set in general, however back to 1989 I prefered to buy other sets.......(specifically I bought all the other sets except from it!!)........
...I think thas is one of the few (...perhaps the only...) carts that can pass through the gates of the castles without to modify the cart itself... That was a good reason to buy it.
