Johnny Thunder- Australian!

Post by The Hordesman »

I just looked on Legos website and watched through the Adventures comics and bios for the characters- apparently Johnny Thunder is Australian. He do have his daily portion of "crikeys" and "mate". :)

Good to know for anyone interested in the Adventures line, such as myself.

I always saw him as a Brit for some reason.... I think Lego should put out another Australian line, or at least bring back a couple Outback sets.

I always assumed Johnny's nationality was common knowledge... :D

Anyhow, if you are a fan of JT and liked the comics, check out these (shameless plug):

LOL!

It's cool - those stories rock...

I forgot he was an aussie... I guess he went from being an aussie to american in my mind, because that's what Indiana Jones was.

I know that Johnny was pushed as one from Down Under in the Orient Expedition series, but was this the case previously?

Personally, though, my Johnny Thunder is a native of LEGOland.

Hat- just the same as Indiana Jones. Those little round thingies arent dangling about it.
word bubbles- just read the comics. Has never existed here so I read them on the web for the first time.

No need to be aggressive.

I would say that this is more of an Orient Expedition thing than any of the three older themes. Certainly, of the comics that we Canadians saw, there was no discernably Australian accent until the Orient Expedition Johnny arrived. And, as far as the hat goes, it looks more like a mountie's stetson to me, with a brim turned up, than an Australian hat.

People read in what they want. I didn't want an Australian, so I never saw one, until they went over the top and made it totally obvious in the Orient Expedition.

Sorry you feel that way. I was just really surprised at that, I thought it was common knowledge, my bad.

From what I remember, Johnny didn't really speak much at all until Orient Expedition. There were a few comics before then, but they were mostly just "Look, a trap door! Let's fall in and use a pickaxe to climb out!"

Heh heh heh... that's true... too bad Lego can't write at a higher level for some of their older fans!
