Vikings Available on Amazon!

Post by Athos »

Amazon.de that is.

http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/search ... 97-0226403

They have the price in euros :P, and appear to be using the original names.

[edit] Well... now upon further inspection and straining of my rudimentary German skills, it looks like they are not yet available for shipping.

[edit, again] Looks like the link isn't working. If you really want to look at them, follow these steps:

1. Click the link
2. Type "lego wikinger" in the search box
3. Click "Los"

these sets are going to be expensive. unfortunately each set has some weird creature. I would rather get more useful peices, but I'm still gonna buy most of the sets.

I'm actually pretty excited about Jormungand and Fenrir. All the others, though, I can do without... for now....

So...just making an educated guess, that makes the sets:

7015: approx. $5 USD
7016: approx. $10 USD
7017: approx. $20 USD
7018: approx. $60 USD
7019: approx. $75 USD

So, looking pretty good, though the fortress is cheaper than I expected, and the longboat is more expencive! It's interest that the $30 slot has been left out, and the $50 slot has been upped by ten bucks.

Now, the question is, when these hit USA Amazon, do I buy them now, or wait for them to hit S@H and get the bulk discount?

Wait for the discount. They'll be 15-20% off after a couple of months, and eventually a few of them will hit 30-40% off....

If you can't wait, then that's fine. I'll have the sale items all to myself.

No, but if you are patient you can usually find sales at places like Etoys, Amazon.com, toysrus.com, etc....

Use the super cool Internet Price Guide at fbtb.net to see where the sales are. It only shows Star Wars sets, but usually if a Star Wars set is on sale, other lines are too:

Speaking of this, any chance that this could be implemented for Castle sets here? I rememeber the Admins saying in the past that software was limiting the implementation, (or something like that). It sue would be nice to have!

No
Acutally, they do, at least for the USA. Whenever a completely new line is released, like Star Wars III or KK2, they usually have a deal where if you buy a package containing all the new sets from that line, you get $20 off, or something.

This is an example of one of S@H's "bulk deals":

I converted the EURO prices (from amazon.de) to U.S. dollar & came up with....
7015 - $6.00
7016 - $12.00
7017 - $24.00
7018 - $70.00
7019 - $90.00

(note, some of the prices I rounded down a little bit to give it an even number)

LEGO prices for Europe are higher than the US prices, for some reason. Actual prices:

Warrior - $5/6
Boat - $10/12
Catapult - $15/$20
Ship - $50/60
Fortress - $70
