Giant Steps (Narnia Vignette)
Bruce's suggestion to create Puddleglum was so intriguing that I skipped a few books ahead and created a vignette to showcase my attempt to capture that silly old swamp-dweller:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=140987
This is a scene from The Silver Chair in which Puddleglum, Eustace, and Jill climb a series of ledges (which turn out to be stairs built by giants) up to a ruined city and the castle Harfang.
(I have so many Harry Potter owls that I think a "Parliament of Owls" vignette from this book is also inevitable. )

This is your best Narnia vig yet!
The main thing I want to comment on is the background. Alone, this vig is great, but your choice of background (no matter how simple) brought it to life for me.

Awesome. I think, though, Puddleglum would look better in sandgreen. IIRC, he was described as having a 'muddy' complexion, and also he was the perpetual pessimist. I think this head would make an excellent Puddleglum. Still, I really like it, and the hat is great.

Hey,
I like the Frankenstein head as Puddleglum. For some reason I always thought of him as kind of reptilian, so I might have chosen this one:

Thanks for the compliments, and I really appreciate the feedback -- especially Cm2 and Bruce's suggestions for possible Puddleglum heads!
I've been dying to get my hands on the Studios Monster minifigs for a while now, and I finally got Vampire's Crypt (with Dracula and Igor) this weekend from BrickLink. (I only paid $0.50 over the original MSRP, including shipping. Woot!)
Unfortunately, I don't have the Scary Laboratory (yet), so using Frankenstein's Monster is out. I had my Zam Wessell head in my girl-heads bin, so I'd missed the other face. I'll try it out, but I think I'm pretty much sold on old Bolt-in-the-Neck!
Duke_Dave and Azaghal, I'll create a folder with pictures of just the minifigs. I'm building quite the cast of characters so far, and I know I won't use all of them in vignettes.
EDIT: Sigh... I couldn't help myself. I found a great BrickLink store that had good prices on all three Studios figs I want (Mad Scientist, Frankenstein's Monster, and the Mummy), so you'll be seeing a Cm2-inspired version of Puddleglum soon.

I like it. Puddleglum is my second favorite character... after Edmund. I agree he needs to be more reptilian/amphibous, but other than that, it is great.

Okee dokee. I finally got my BrickLink order for Frankenstein's Monster, so I updated this vignette with an improved Puddleglum:

Close-up of Athos' second-favorite character:

Credit goes to porschecm2 for the suggestion to use that head. Very much obliged, good sir! (I'd needed a good excuse to get the rest of the monster minifigs, so double-thanks!)
