custom brick-only goblins....

Here are a pair of goblins, a river goblin and a cliff goblin...

The river goblin is wearing fish-scale armor, and the cliff goblin is wearing dark, rag-like garb...



The river goblin is armed with an iron bludgeon, and the clifff goblin is carrying a large, deeply curved scimitar...

River goblins lack the curved, ram-like horns of their cliff-dwelling brethren...

Please tell me what you think...

I like the goblins, but their heads are exceedingly large. Maybe you could make them bigger as Trolls?

Well, if you think the Goblin heads are too big, too bad.

I've never seen a consistent definition of any fantasy monster, so

it really depends on which book, movie, or game you are

using as the basis for your monster.

I chose the Hobbit cartoon as the basis for my Goblins, for several reasons,

namely they are easy to build and they don't look like my other brick-only

monsters or demi-human figures, and I think they are cute, too.

I'd be glad to build a Troll, if I knew what they generally look like - case in

point, look at one of the Trolls in Willow and compare it to the Troll in Harry

Potter. See what I mean???

Well, I can see it by clicking on the link, which I could do before when I only got the "red 'x' in white box" sign.

I don't know what the problem was, but there's no problem now.

Boses, I like the heads, but they look really goofy on a minifig body. How about making a custom brick built body as well?

The goblins are roughly humanoid in form and proportion, so I use the

minifig torso when building them. I have no intentions of altering this

design, I think brick-built torsos would be a waste of time, and I have

never found a reasonable substitute for the minifig arms, I refuse to use

the space claw-arm-thing for a minifig.

While other brick-only monsters and demi-humans look fine, such as

dragons and nagas, human-like monsters require more detail, and I do my

best to strike a critical balance when building them...

and therefore I use and will continue to use whatever piece I feel best

displays the idea I am trying to convey...I am however, always open to

suggestions, and I will take the brick-built minifig torso idea into

consideration when building other monsters...

I think they look fanatistic. 10/10 IMO. Great job. I never would have thought of some of that for building goblins and monsters.
