Very nice stuff!

That eagle on the enemy shield seems to be of a later date than the middle ages though...

Those look really good. I don't really have anything new to add other than backing up what Blasterman said about the surcoat.

Good job.

I can send you a plain template if you'd like. :-)

thanx for the tips, ill try em but how the Megablocks do i make the skirt-things?
Armothe(sp?) has some really good templates for making various clothing
related items, or you could use Lego cape/sail material and cut, glue, paint.

Check out -
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=93841
for some examples, using my Lego cloth method.
That's right. I said MY method. 8)

Thanks Jeff,

Head over to MCN (http://www.minifigcustomizationnetwork) where there are several usable surcoat and tunic templates. The outlines are already complete - just fill in the design, print, cut and apply!

Those are prototypes of my Great Helm design, which I'm
still planning on making...along with some other castle
stuff this year.

And yes - they would go well with earlier period knights.

They are rapid-prototype pieces, made by a machine.

Drool :P
Do we get a time frame, or do we just have to wait and see?

Hmmm...I'd say some time by Spring/Summer.

Thanks for the template, Matthew.
But this is not what i am looking to make.

Im planning to design a new template for a barding, probably using the lego cloth/fabric material like blasterman suggested, and covering the head and front of the horse, as seen in the picture, not just the sides.

So i wont be using the official bardings anyway.
If anyone has brilliant ideas on that, please lemme know.
I will be trying to make one somewhere next week, ill keep you all informed on the progress.

The only way to really accomplish what you want to do either involves a lot of sewing or a lot of glue. It will be next to impossible to create a single cloth piece that covers the entire horse as represented in your first illustration. I currently use a barding template which doesn't utilize the TLG plastic barding piece, but requires sticker-back or glue-stick to apply. Good luck and let us know if you succeed!

ooh yay that was my idea and i cant wait for em, as soon as you have em ill upload more pics of mounted teutonic knights but id suggest first doing a template for the lego barding before you go completely balistic and try to cover the whole horse, cos then you still have something if you screw up, and it will be easier

This is beginning to stray off topic, but this a very popular subject clearly, so I urge admin to give us some leeway here.

I also encourage you to make TwoTonic (weird, even with spellcheck ;)) barding with Lego's design first, then step up to what would be a complete departure of the likes of Armothe's tunic-stickers or B-Man's stuff, etc. I've found myself very inspired by that picture as well. I need to give these stickers a try this weekend. Nicely done, this is the first "buzz" topic in custom in some time!

P.S. It's great to have you back Jeff! Can't wait for those Great Helms!
