New uses for bizzare Castle parts and misc. torsos

Post by JPinoy »

I have a new idea for any loose minifigs and minifig parts that we all have.

I'll just use myself for an example since there's some minifigs that I have that I haven't found a use for.... until recently. Since I already have 33 Ancient factions (Kahilawayans not included) in the world and started having problems choosing other historic and even mythic civilizations of Atlantis and the Rama Empire (Hindu legends)... I thought, why not create new totally fantasy or even conjecture based factions on other worlds.

I've already changed my Kahilawayan factions from being High-Medieval to spacefaring last year. So I thought, why not give them "Lang'it-Ba'kud" (HeavenGates)... better known as StarGates, and visit other worlds.

I think I've found a use for all those bizzare looking flesh heads. They can be alien civilizations on a Medieval technological level. The Kahilawayans can visit them long ago, and perhaps be their "teachers"

This'll sound airheaded, but I just came up with this idea a few days ago despite being a StarGate fan for several years!

If you have a Fantasy setting, you could link your current earthbound Castle guys with the other-world castle factions via "magical portal", a magic version of the science-fiction stargate. Im not sure how the pure-history guys will even took the route I took. Going for a mix of history and sci-fi.

------------------------------------------

EDIT:
I have upgraded the idea into a community project.

Hey, JPinoy, you've sure got a good imagination there--glad you're using it! I could never bring myself to mix times (although I did just that as a child) unless I was in a really silly mood and wanted to use all my Legos at once. As to aliens, I do not believe in them at all (Although Bigfoot has my vote!), but all in all you are quite creative! I brainstorm all the time too...keep it up! (And please do make sure to watch your back, those minifigs can get rather dangerous, especially with another 5,199 behind them!)

You can be human, live on other planet and still be regarded as "alien", as you are not from this world. Alien basically means foriegner.

On a down-to-earth view, you have "Resident Aliens" who live in the US. That is foriegners who legally live in the US, and some are on their way to citizenship.

Oh well... at least with this idea, I can now use the Dragons, Kaadus, and other creatures.

It would be interesting to see Flesh-tones clad in Jayko armor, carrying Minifig-Bionicle weapons and riding a Kaadu, go to war against the mounted Black Knights of Earth. As the... "Talonjayans" invade through the StarGate.

Not a bad idea. Take some time off from your other obsession (or make her help) and show us some pics. I don't have any "minifig-bionicle" weapons, or else I would give it a try...

Well.. if you consider KK2 swords to be weird, you can use those instead of Minifig-Bionicle weapons.

Oh, you're right about aliens. I didn't think of it in that light...sorry! But I too try to use the kaadus for tame beast-of-burden dragons, and I also am eventually going to get the boga and dewback for the same purposes. Who says dragons always have to have wings? Of course, my kaadus have wings I made for them. I should upload some pics to Brickshelf so you can see. I just used two of the SW yellow podracer air stabilizer thingys. Good ideas though!

Thanks for the inspiration! I made a gate last night, so here are some rushed pics of my idea. I think the gates/portals should be run off of crystals/jewels etc. Let me know watcha think.
