I really like the idea of old figs with new sets,I would buy a new colored one,I mean gray isn`t coming back lets face it,but I would really enjoy a re-release of BFs and crusaders with newer sets.As we`ve seen LEGO has begun to add a story to almost all their lines. When(and if they ever  )finish the KK storyline they can make a"new" kingdom name with the Bfs and crusaders at war. They could make one or two(or maybe we`ll let three)actual characters and make sure each set has a legitemit amount of figs besides these dudes. They could make some sets based around a non-fantasy story line while others are just army builders(in the sense of figs and war machines).Anywho getting back on topic If lego released an older style set I`d get it for the great figs and the good parts,I really don`t see the big issue between the color switch unless you were in the middle of some giant MOC that will take you half a century to complete

It seems that there is far more interest in the minifigs themselves. Personally, I'm far more interested in a minifig pack. Its been years since we've had a good source of 'castle' minifigs. And this theme, more than any other seems driven by minifigs. LEGO has seen fit to release the community workers minifig packs for the City/Town line. Why not do the same with some of the more popular castle minifigs? A few Knights, soldiers, forestmen, peasants etc. would be invaluable to newer castle fans looking to build their armies.

Older parts could also be offered in newer colours to freshen things up (dark red hoods for example). Look, I liked the Legends line for what it was, but I think that there are greater possibilities out there for the classic-castle fan. I'm uncomfortable pushing for the return of the Legends line when something greater could be running through the pipelines at LEGO.

So do people really want the old sets, or are they simply yearning for a classic-look to return? Still, this poll is quite interesting.

Later.

Redesigned!

What with the over-the-top set design and crativity of the Vikings, why stifle the set designer's creativity by limiting it to a (essentially) reproduction! The old castles are great, but by no means exclusive to the ideal of design and peak of creativity.

Nice post Blueandwhite,
I really like your idea of a castle-themed minifig pack.
And the way of adding a few new colors to older styles
could be interesting-so long as they don't mess with
something like the Black Falcon symbol of coarse.

I voted for Bley-Accurate, but I would just as easily buy Bley-Redesign.

Any reappearance of a classic Castle set, in any way, shape, or form would be totally awesome. Furthermore, I DO want to increase the size of my Bley collection.

Buy an accurate bley legend.

I'm starting to accept Bley as it's own colour...like separating red from orange, I separate Dark Grey from Bley, and it works.

I'm torn between the first two options. If they make sets reminscient of the older designs, I'd be all over that. If they rerelease old sets, I'd be interested in that too. If they release redesigned legends in the vein of KK2, I probably would pass.

I chose accurate bley. I agree with others that I would actually prefer to see new sets come out in the classic set style (which I think of as more, smaller pieces with more generic figs). However, there are many sets that I don't have from long ago that would be fun to see around again (on the shelf, not from somebody's basement). Also, I don't have enough grey bricks from my childhood collections to build a very substantial MOC, so I figure I'm going to end up collecting bley anyhow.

A new release of classic castle figs would be awsome, but I just can't get past the bley. It looks weird to me in the new color. I never liked the palymobil bluish-grey color adn I don't like Lego's either. It just wouldn't be the same.

I really don't have a preference between the two shades of grey. The only downside is all the Light gray some of us may have amassed over the years. I like to see the upside of things. Bley is cheaper than Light Gray ever was and I don't think it looks necessarily worse. It's just different and it's a shame Light Gray has ceased to exist, but still, the sets wouldn't really llok that different. Every new project I start I do it in Bley. There's no need to be radical about it. lego made its decision, for better or for worse, and we would all gain if we went along with it, because really there's nothing more either of us can do.

I buy legends no matter what color.

I believe in supporting that idea to the hilt.

I voted for a blue grey Legend. Classic grey is simply not coming back.

Having said that, I would rather see Classic mini-fig packs or castle expansion packs. Anyone for Castle Tub?

I would buy anything. Really. On a huge MOC, bley & grey mixes arent noticeable, actually, it looks kind of good. Redesign or not, Im going to buy it anyways.

Though of course, an unaltered one would be perfect, we wont probably ever see that.

I'm more likely to buy a yellow castle that isn't yellow, new or old gray. The old parts are a different question - it depends on what they replaced them with (Jellybean Knights, no, for instance). Generally speaking, if it is a good set, it won't stop me if the parts aren't the exact same.
