This is looking really good!
I like how you constructed the two windows in this pic:

Yellow castles always seem like they would be more ideal in a desert landscape. That'd be cool if you decided to do that.
Looking at your digital pics makes me wish lego would produce some brown baseplates.
We need brown baseplates!

Really nice yellow castle.

I completely agree. Another great thing is that door/window thing in the same pic. Also, is there any way to get better images without a whole lot of work? Just wondering.Jacob C. wrote:I like how you constructed the two windows in this pic:

Learning French.
Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".
I'm a Pumpkin.

yes, they are both baseplates (i used the baseplate generator). well... one of ldraw`s advantages is, that ignoring laws of nature works much better whith it.amadeus wrote:That's awesome! But I have a question about the higher plates in the castle. Were those plates bases? Or just regular plates. And is there a way to raise a base to serve as a plate?
If by this you mean "can I raise a baseplate on bricks/plates and still have it connected to surrounding parts", the answer is yes.amadeus wrote:And is there a way to raise a base to serve as a plate?
You will need to construct a lattice (I use 2x8 bricks for this) to support the thin plastic of the baseplate

Cool, I just tried that and it works pretty good, except if you don't add any support under the this baseplate, the entire tower falls and all you pieces go flying into the vents in your room. And you get really angry. So I used some blue brick columns and put them under the foundation.WilliamH wrote:If by this you mean "can I raise a baseplate on bricks/plates and still have it connected to surrounding parts", the answer is yes.amadeus wrote:And is there a way to raise a base to serve as a plate?

I like it. You should make it for real. Is it very hard to make MOCS using that program?

That's a very simple, yet ingenious answer! How come I never saw that?WilliamH wrote:

Anyways, the castle looks like its coming along very nicely! I can't wait to see the finished product.

Looks very nice so far. I like the tan highlights, it goes good with the yellow.
