I got nothing.
Uhh... it comes with Rascus's platemail?
I've gotten to where I prefer the printed torso better...

I actually found a very good use for that. I gave it yellow arms and used it as a female's dragonhide armor torso.

Along with a cauldron, black doors, four shields, two black cups and misc. bricks.

Try... thinking outside of the blue box, the set passively amplifies the value of your classic sets.

I could never find that one... which really stinks, because it has just about everything I needed.

Ah, Castle of Morcia, I hardly knew ya!

It's one of the few sets that I actually returned (along with 8780 and 8799). Hmmm... all KKII. I see a pattern. My wife got them for me for Christmas. Hey, she still owes me, like, $150 in LEGO. I guess this proves the saying that I saw somewhere, that "a set in the hand is worth 2 on the shelf."

Anyway, the fact that I returned this set should give you an idea as to what I think of it. And KKII, for that matter.

It comes with a normal blue horsehelment, and the barding.

But this isn't enough to justify buying the set. I suppose that a young (6-10 year old) might buy this, since he has no other castle (being born after the other castles) and thinks it kinda cool. I mean, as much as we would like to think otherwise, this set wasn't designed with AFOL's or TFOL's in mind. From a kid's point of view this is an okay set. At least he'll think that until he learns about a better castle.

well, I'm 15, and I just missed king leo's castle, I have the magazine advertising it. Then this one came out, and I compared them. Although the pieces are more, the olf KK1 castle was way better, even if you dropped out the jelly beans of new and the knights of old, KK1 castle still rocked.

I would buy this set, as I am the

guy. Well, I don't think it's "cool", but it'll deffinately boost my collection, but my parents won't let me buy over $80 lego sets cause mom thinks it's a waste. sigh. But you look at this set and think

"that's a castle? it is! how can I tell? Cause the box says it is!"

Seriously, this castle has so many nooks and crannyies and just downright bad design, that peasants could take it down, and cut through the jelly beans plastic armor with wood.
I ow it to wunztwice for directing me here.

The true story of KK2.

Not a great set, it had a few good pieces, a shadow knight (always good), yes, the horse barding, King Mathais is good too. Not much else is good here though.

Very stupid though:

Vladek: "Attack the castle, all forces advance!"
Shadow knight: "Too bad there's only one of us."
Vladek: "Curse those jellies. Out numbered 5 to 2! 3 to 2, 2 to 1, gosh was evil outnumbered in every KK2 set!?"

(Not counting KK2:2)

The design is terrible, piece-wise it´s terrible... in almost all aspects it´s terrible... but still it is LEGO and when I got it, it still had this "aura of awesomeness" that all LEGO sets have (IMO). I bought this last summer while being in a "twilight age" of sorts and I´m actually glad I did. I was quite amused by how ridiculous the design was and I took it apart almost immediately after building it but it sparked something within me... I don´t really know what I´m actually trying to say but I think we whine a bit too much... or maybe it´s just that I can´t really dislike a LEGO set, no matter how terrible it is..

This is definately my least favorite castle Lego has made. I dislike the wierd blue color they included in the Knight's Kingdom 2 sets, it just doesn't work well with anything else. I purchased this set when it first came out because I had always wanted a castle, I was hugely disapointed. In fact this set turned me off from castle for a few years until the new Fantisy Era sets came out. Overall I would give this set a 4.5/10.

well as for minifigs...
change the kings blue to red and you've got a lannister
get rid of green dudes shield and armor and you've got a tyrell
same thing with blue and theres an arryn
red dude needs a color change but then youve got a mormont.
(george rr martin minifigs coming soon in a moc)
the castle reeks of problems.
the scorpion seige thingywatsit is decent a few modifications and it might be good.
however the age old lego castle problem still stands, there are more people in the castle than there are beseiging it.
He who thinks you should look at the box that says "Quaraga" if you want to find out his username (about as useful to you as his real name). he only wants you to look so he can laugh about you looking there because he's a total smart...

I give COM high marks for not being "EVERY SINGLE CASTLE DESIGN" since. This was the last base plate design for some time, and while many are glad to be rid of it, I now have more non-base plate castles than base plate...so suffice to say, I think it's healthy to enjoy a blend of both. As for the KKII line, I have my theories as to why they are so hated by everyone (i.e., when I say theories, I literally mean I've done a theoretical analysis on the "why".).

Personally, I really enjoyed KKII b/c of the intricate story line that allowed or better yet invited collectors to play along. I'm not just talking about the cards that were included with sets. I'm talking about the 10-issue animated comic at the Lego website. It was an INCREDIBLE story with numerous tie-in games. This was a brand extension unlike any Lego had ever created for the Castle line. However, so few people actually viewed the comics that they had no idea how much each set played in the story line!? Anyway, because of the intricate story tie-in and cool base plate, as well as the new additions of colorful knights, more detailed than prior versions, I give the set a 8 out of 10 for guts, commodity branding, and creative color palette. Heck, these colorful knights banding together for the sake of overcoming the 'black' threat of death foreshadowed the Green Lantern color spectrum and mega-event Blackest Night (okay, a liberty for sure, but you can see the correlations!). : )

8/10, especially if you got it on sale

Well, This is my opinion, so no hard feelings.

I think that most AFOL's, and a few of the TFOLs really don't care much for the story. They much prefer to make up their own story, and thus, the sets get in the way of that.

This castle is my least favorite large castle set design of all. In my opinion the whole KK2 theme had a very "Power Ranger" feel and look to it. This set has very little appeal to adult collectors though there may be a few that like it for one reason or another and even some older kids my be put off by it's unrealistic colorful design scheme. Fright Knights was one theme I could accept on some level but KK2 with it's rainbow colored minifigs and sets was almost like it didn't even belong with the rest of the castle line.
