ABOUT TIME!

The Viking long boats crashed through the salty brine...
A lone figure was perched aside the figurehead of a grusome beast,
open maw and eyes wild! The horns of his helm glistening, wet.
It was his first veiw of the mainland. He had studied it's cultures and was now joining as one of them...
Rolyn, his wet hair driping, called across to a second boat, "Olar! Land there!" he said pointing to a sandy beach to the south, "AYE!" was the reply.

*****

Later on the beach, "Olar, take 5 of your men and scout this beach."
"Sure thing!"
Rolyn looked over the mountians to the west, "*Looks like a storm..."
Rolyn went to help a woman with her tent, "Here, give that stake." he pounded it firmly into the sand, "That'll do fer' now."
"Thank you."
"Rolyn!! You need to see this!"
Rolyn ran to see what was the matter. An enemy already?
He came to the soldiers in a clearing to the tree line.
"Look!" said one of the troop as he parted some leaves revealing a makeshift sign bearing a crude drawing of a bull with a ring in it's nose and wild red eyes!

Okay, smcginnis, meet my people now!
*Storms allways follow the Skeletons!

I guess I might as well get started...
Crafton walked through the woods, cautiously, while trying to keep Dewbrain and Greenback quiet. "Hush!" he said, as something caught his eye.
"Hai Greenback, 'e said ta shu' up."
"'ere aren't no wai oi'm lissnen' ta yew Dewbrain, all yew is is trouble..."
"Hush, both of you!"
"Tol' yew."
"Shu' up!"
As Crafton moved cautiously through the woods, he got into a position to see what was going on. from his viewpoint, he could see part of the shore, and some Vikings moving about, setting up camp. there were two of them, one of them appearing to be their leader, looking trough the bushes at what he identified as crudely crafted siege machinery, obviously the work of Cedric's men. he snuck deeper in, and examined the bull camp. 13, 14, 15 men, not counting siege machine operators.Cedric wasn't amongst them, coward that he was. Crafton pondered telling the Vikings this informatio, but was not sure that they knew about the massive bounty on his head. a lot of the other factions certainly did!

Crafton decided it wouldn't be wise to try his luck, as vikings were known to have...certain ways... He called the two goblins and set out for the road they had entered the woods from. as they walked through the woods, he heard noises... Bounty hunters! he grabbed his sword and instructed the goblins to arm themselves. "We'll have to go back to the vikings. hopefully they are kinder then these!" The trio dashed through the woods, and an arrow whizzed past his head. "Come back! By order of King Leo! You murderer! come back and pay your price!"

As they looked at the sign they heard shouts of gruff voices coming from the woods! The whole troop drew their swords, bows, and axes; preparing for battle!

These Vikings are good guys!

Crafton ran through the woods, and finally came upon the beach where the Vikings were. He cast aside his worries and rushed up to the camp, his goblin friends following. He just then remembered the bounty hunters, he could fight them more easily on the beach. he turned towrds the woods, and stabbed one of them through the gut as he dived out. he pulled his sword out of the carcass and caught a glimpse of two more, one pulling a bowstring. he charged upand split the man's bow, and then beheaded him where he stood. he turned to see the goblins had managed to get themselves a prisoner...
"Hai Crofty, looksy wot oi got!"
"Shu' up Greenback, 'e was moi catch!"
"Stop bickering, the both of you."
The goblins' prisoner kneeled, and begged for mercy. Crafton took his bow, sword, and arrows, and let him loose. the man rushed off into the woods, not taking a moment to look back. "Good work you two." said Crafton to the Goblins, "Now we need to see what we can do for these Vikings."
"Hai Dewbrain, he coprinetted me."
"No, 'e were talkin' tew me!"
The three went back to the camp, hoping for peace.

Rolyn and his troop were caught off guard by the hidious beasts that had run into their camp! The women and children fled as the party of wariors charged over circling the brutes.
"What do you want here?!" Rolyn demanded looking down at one of the dead mangled bodies...

(Since when were a human paladin and two goblins hideous beasts?)
Crafton looked at the Vikings, who obviously were not prepared for guests. "We come in peace, those bounty hunters sook to kill me, for I have been falsely accused of murder. I thought i might inform you, those Bull-knights are not here to attack you, they seem headed towards a different target... We wish you no harm, there are more of those hunters in the woods, and we need rest." Crafton was uneasy as he awaited the Chief's reply...

"I'm unformiliar with these lands, so I can't say is you are guilty or inocent. Tell me fully, what is going on here or go..." Rolyn held his sword out ready for the reply.

Sorry I thought it was only goblins.

"My story is a long one, but I will explain the best i can. I am Crafton, a paladin, and I have been expelled from my homeland, for a crime I have not commited. I was once the friend of King Leo, and tutor and bodygaurd to his now deceased son, Ardain. I was taking him, by request of the king, hunting, along with some of my trusted friends. The hunt was going well, when we were ambushed. Crusader troops overran us, and they knocked me down, stunning me. As I helplessly laid there, the crusader party's leader picked up my sword, and murdered the young boy in cold blood. I was furious, and grabbed one of my dead friend's swords, and slaughtered them. but as i started for their leader, he had picked up Ardains crossbow, and fired it into my shoulder, causing me to faint. the King's men found Ardain dead by my blade, and the prince's crossbow bolt in my shoulder. The King issued a mass bounty on me, and all the nations have been hunting me down ever since. I hope that you believe me, for my own friends don't." As Crafton fiished, he noticed the two goblins lying on the ground, bawling like babies. "Isso sad! *Sniff* oi borlieve ye Crofty!"
"Oh yes," remembered Crafton, "These two are Dewbrain and Greenback, they're truly kind creatues, despite their race."

"Fine, give these three something to eat and a tent." Rolyn ordered. "But tomorrow you're on your own."

I gotta go now.

I wrote:Vbana, the little fire-drakes, and the phoenixes were all assembled on the edge of the lava lake. Once more, Quolde clambered onto the great dragon's back and strapped himself in. He gave a whistle, and the convoy of firey creatures took flight and headed for their new home, wherever it was.

Location: Somewhere over the Taurus range.

___Vbana flew east over the Taurus Mountains at a brisk pace, the drakes and phoenixes following, and occasionally landing to rest on, the great red dragon. Quolde, from his strapped-in perch between Vbana's twin rows of back spines, surveyed the clouds above and around him, trying to forecast the weather; a skill he had never quite mastered. Craning his neck around, he shouted to the dragon, "Land on the coast, will you? I don't think it'd be a good idea to fly over the ocean tonight. We'll wait out the storm and continue to search for a new home tomorrow."
___<Storm?> asked Vbana. <What are you talking about? Those clouds are not the kind that will cause rain.> The dragon snorted; a stream of hot air issued from his nose and cut through the vapor. <If you insist on predicting the weather, there is an entry on it in that book of yours. I suggest you read it.>
___Quolde sniffed. "I can tell the weather just fine, thank you. See? It's raining." He waved his wand, and a few half-hearted droplets formed on Vbana's head, where they soon steamed away into nothingness.
___<Ha, ha,> Vbana said flatly. <Now let me fly.>

___About an hour later, they landed in the forest, just ten minutes' walk from the beach. Quolde quickly unstrapped himself and climbed off of the dragon's back. He cast a few spells of illusion on the fire creatures, so that they camouflaged with the surrounding greenery, then constructed a lean-to out of fallen branches. This done, he crawled inside for short nap, but was interrupted by the sound of running and frightened shouts, as well as Vbana's thoughts nagging him to come outside.
___Grumbling, Quolde went back outside and saw that a few of the drakes had surrounded a middle-aged man, who was glancing around nervously. "What've you caught?" Quolde asked.
___<A bounty hunter, apparently,> Vbana said. The man looked around for the source of the strange sound, and, seeing Vbana, promptly fainted.
___"Hmm...," Quolde said. "You there, drake, take him away from here, and make sure he doesn't wake up before you're gone. I don't want him to know where we are." The drake he had pointed to nodded enthusiastically and picked up the man gently with its jaws, then spread its wings and flew off into the forest. "Where did he come from, Vbana? He was running; I want to see what from."
___The dragon pointed his temporarily green head in the direction of the ocean. <There.>
___"Thank you," Quolde said. He took his wand out of the lean-to, and waved it over himself, changing his appearance to that of an aged Bull peasant, then set off towards the beach.

Crafton tossed and turned, he couldn't sleep. seeing the two goblins, he woke them. they donned their armor and gear, and Crafton left a few coins behind for the Vikings hospitality. the trio surveyed the beach, and looked around. strange thought Crafton. these storms still haven't lifted... He walked around a bit, and finally determined that they would go to the road, in a different direction then they sent the bounty hunter. as they journeyed, they heard the faint scream of a man dying. Crafton and the goblins moved quickly the rest of the way, until they came to the road. Crafton decided that they should follow the road, about half a mile, then re-enter the woods. as they walked down the road, they saw part of the reason for the storm. Three skeletons, probably scouts, were walking... er... ambling down the road. Crafton drew his sword, and hid in the ditch. as the skeletons approached, Crafton used a quck paladin spell and stunned the skeletons. he chopped them down, and made sure to incinerate their remains, although not too effectively, due to the storm. after continuing their trek down the road, they re-entered the woods, and created a makeshift shelter. as the goblins slept, Crafton stayed awake, pondering his past. it had been 10 years since that bounty... 10, long, restless, years...

The next morning, the sky was an overcast grey growing darker to the North-West. Rolyn awoke got dressed in his usual garb but leaving his helmet walked from the tent and over their "visitor's."
"Hello?" he called.
Nothing.
He pulled aside the curtain revealing nothing, but a putrid smell.
"Hmm... ew!"
On the floor were five coins. (The most widely used form of curency.) But that was all. He left the tent seeing Olar.
"How are our Sleeping Beautys?" Olar asked
"I wouldn't know!"
"Wh- they're gone?"
"Mmhm. They left these though!" Rolyn said showing the coins.
"Well, good ridince! They had an evil look about them..."
"Aye, well we should get to work on the houses today, and get a few hunters out as well..."

I'm gonna be gone for a few days so I won't be posting!
