I was inspired by Aaron D to make my own, though I didn't have enough pieces to make an entire set, so I just made one of each piece. :)

You all have great creations going on there! Love em all.

Dano, your pieces came out really nice. I wouldn't have thought to have the King and Queen on mounts. Good way to get some height and set them apart.

I'm digging the Dragon masters love you got going Dano. In a perfect world we'd both have enough pieces to field an entire board and the ability to play against each other.

Sorry about the slight blurriness. My good camera is broken so I have to use a crappier one. I couldn't decide whether i should have put Frodo in the King spot or Gandalf, But as you can see I chose Frodo. Comments Appreciated

This is the second of the two chessboards I built, as soon as I get some decent pics of the first I'll post it.
Hope you like it!

 Heheheh, It's May 1st and I haven't made anything. I was working on a dwarf chess set to go along with nanuck's troll set...but I'm a little late. I'll just post it later.

Thanks for the great idea Josh! And both of your sets look really good. This Monthly Challenge produced a lot of great ideas.

Good job everyone, and hopefully I get mine up soon.

Post it whenever you want. These challenges have a deadline but its not like there is a prize. They are strictly to boost creativity. So I want to see your set whenever you finish it, okay?

Hey,

I just saw on Flickr that Centuri has a chess set. The other pieces are fairly straightforward, but the knight is spectacular:
