10. The admins will discuss this and get back to you. In the past the answer was no.

Just making sure, but for the Forbidden Fortress category we only need to, or can, build just a portion of the castle/fortress correct? No custom sizing requirements were listed so I assume as much.

Just to clarify, when entering a model, is the user id your username? I entered the misc small creations category earlier today but I am unsure whether it went through because it hasn't appeared on the completed entry page.

11. Entries have to be approved by the staff before they appear on the entry pages. Once they are approved, they will show up.

Just to be sure, you can do more then one ship (I'm just thinking two) as one entry for the ships category right (like a naval battle)?

Size limitation:
I am aware of the two 32x32 or a single 48x48 base plate limitation, but does it constrain overhang too or are additional overhangs allowed? To what extent?

12 Yes, as long as it fits on the baseplate restriction.

13 - Incidental overhang has always been allowed, but not structural. By this we mean that if there is a fig standing near the edge holding a spear, and the end of the spear extends beyond the baseplate, or if there is a tree and some of the branches extend beyond the baseplate. But you couldn't build a building that fits within the footprint at the bottom, but mushrooms up to larger on upper floors (essentially the tax dodge used in Elizabethan England, where property taxes were based on the ground floor footprint).

Could I do two ships which fit on two 32x32 BP, but pose the battle with the ships farther out from each other? I could take a shot proving they don't exceed the limit.

14 No. See the initial rules - "All entries should fit on 2 connected 32x32 baseplates or smaller unless stated otherwise in that category's rules. You may use a single 48x48 plate for your entry instead of the two 32x32 plates. " Note in particular the word "connected".

On the general question of custom, second-party, or any non-official LEGO parts in MOCs (this came up already in questions 6 and 10):

6 and 10 As with previous CCC's, this is a LEGO building contest, so you should largely focus on official purist elements (i.e. no customized elements or parts made by customs dealers). Except:
The custom fig categories has no such restrictions, of course.
String and paper/cloth sails generally allowed.
Custom animals generally allowed.
Customization of fig torsos, flags and shields generally allowed.
No restrictions on the misc category.
Mega Blox get you fed to the dragons.

A not-yet-asked question on virtual models:

15 - The same rules with regards to non-LEGO parts apply to virtual (LDraw, LDD, etc) models. They should reflect existing LEGO parts except for the same exceptions as given in the combined 6&10 answer. LEGO parts should be in existing colors (if you can show us on some resource like Bricklink, Peeron, or even in a photo that such and such piece exists in such and such a color, it is okay).

16 Cutting flex tubes and strings has always been considered valid. There are official sets that ask you to cut these in their instructions.

Can I use a short video to show a function in my Moc?
Cause else it will be hard to show a nice feature in my almost finished haunted inn?

Btw, what about the scale, must it always be minifig except for the micro cat? If so what about FP? Thanks for your work in this contest!

17 No, not for judging. You can post whatever you want online, but judging will be based on the five submitted photos. You can use a collage photo to show a moving feature.

18 We have generally accepted the use of other scales for forced perspective in an otherwise fig-scaled MOC. This year we have a microscale category (somewhat replacing the micro castle contest that we have held in some years in the past). If you were to build a larger scale MOC, like a minilander or a sculpture, that would go into miscellaneous.

The Micro Medieval Life category stipulates that entries must fit on a 16x16 footprint. Is it acceptable to change the distribution of the footprint to perhaps a 32x8 etc. as long as the same amount of 256 studs are used?
