HOLY MEGABLOX! Lego is still alive! I thank theee on bended knee for leading us to this paradise, My lord....
Sitting in a midnight glade
Firelight dancing off burnished blade
A Forestman sits
Wondering about the next day
But after three mugs of ale
Let it bring what it may.

I think the Ghost set looks most promising of the lot...

I need to add this set to the archive sometime. (if anyone owns it and would like to photograph it, please let me know  ) I have known about this for a while but as Jojo said, it is just a parts pack and it was expensive. Pitsco Dacta sets tend to have nice parts which are sometimes hard to find also. Unfortunately, the prices are marked up a lot because it is bought by schools. I would imagine most of the items are on limited runs and not very profitable for LEGO (but good for the heart because they help educate :) )

I remember stumbling upon this set about 5 years ago and having to go through some educational institution in Georgia to get it. I thought at the time (and still do) that it was a pretty cool set to pick up. The instruction card is a big plastic board with different building possibilities on it. I've kept it, so I'll try to dig it up from the Lego bins (I just moved AGAIN!) to get a shot of it to upload.

DACTA used to have really good stuff for Town folks back in the 80's. My brother and his friend were big into Town and were interested in the huge town minifigure sets that were available through DACTA. However, the only way to get these things back then was to work at a school and luckily our mom was a school secretary. Low and behold a few of those things along with some other misc. sets were purchased and obtained.

I don't know if you have to be a teacher anymore, but when I bought my DACTA castle set, they assumed I was teacher so I didn't bother to tell them I wasn't. I ordered it, told them the kids would love them and hung up! Set arrived a week later....

Hmm, i remember my elementary school having some LEGO sets that weren't like the ones in the stores.

They came in a plastic case and they were technic. I wonder if they were Dacta. That was in 1993 or so.

Ben,

I will try to get you a picture later this week. Drop me an email with any specific requirements.
Due to the high retail price, I only purchased one of these off of the shelf (at a specialty construction toys store in MA). However, I am glad that I bought it b/c they seem to be even tougher to find today than the 1990's bonus packs like 1597.
IMO, it is a legitimate castle set in the 1990's series. And while a castle DACTA released in the 1980's would surely be more impressive parts-wise, it is difficult to discount the uniqueness of 9376.
