Really? Ed Boxer's Castle has a very simple floorplan (this is what makes it so appealing to me). Take a look at this photo. The entire castle is on hinges, not unlike 6080 or 6085. What makes this different is that the central portion is free floating. Like the castle itself, this central portion is on hinges. If you fold it in half, it creates a central block, fitting between the two wings. The two doors in the central hall are actually the rear exit, and open onto the rear balcony..

I haven't been posting lately as I haven't been building (although I have come up with an idea for my next larger scale MOC and I plan to get going in the next few weeks), but I have been lurking in the forums looking at other people's MOC's.

Well, I finally felt the need to comment on this one. If I remember correctly, this MOC was in the Lego Fan Club magazine at some point in the mid 90's. I remember this beauty completely blowing me away back then (somewhere circa 1995 or 1996). I was amazed at the scale, the detail, and most of all, the floor tiles.

Most of the magazine was filled with little MOC's made by little kids, or just photos of someone's Lego collection. This was the first time I remember being astonished by someone else's creation.

This is really one of the classic's.

I still own that magazine, and I remember being blown away by it. I used to stare at the two pictures of it and wish I could see more of it. Now with the Internet, I can feast my eyes on the creation.

Last week I sent an email to the address on his site, but no response. I assume the address is active, as the message wasn't returned, but he must not be into Lego anymore...

Edit: In case anyone is interested, I got a reply back from Ed "Boxer". He still has his Lego but hasn't done anything with it in several years. In fact, he said he is thinking of selling half of the collection. He does have several projects he has been thinking about, but hasn't put any bricks together. He also said he was honored and surprised that we were still talking about his castle. Seems like a very nice guy.
