Love it!

What a great castle! I haven't purchased any bley sets, but I will be picking up that castle because it is just a great, cohesive, fully-walled castle. And it will come with these GREAT looking classic knights and soldiers! As the pic is clearly encouraging us to, i will army build.

I wished they would have went away from the ghoulish baddies, and just given us an otherwise neutral looking faction with different heraldry. (After all, the entire POINT of heraldry was to differentiate the different factions on the battlefield. Not needed so much when battlin' the undead.)

But yeah, really, really welcome stuff.

Dude that castle looks awesome!!! The figs look great, I like the design and color choice. The skeleton heads aren't the greatest but I'll live.Great looking sets, hope there are army builderes! The wizard(necromancer)s castle looks good to, pretty classical with that skull! Good stuff can't wait, better save some cash for the summer!!!

OMG. I had heard some hints of what was coming, but this looks even better than I had hoped.

Decent looking castle.

Very happy to see the old swords coming back.

It's hard to tell about the dragon, but it looks promising to me. It looks more substantial and less Bionicle-like than the Viking dragons. But it'll probably be a one-piece thing, and not brick-built.

I know some of you don't like the new skeletons, but I love the fact the arms will be posable. I kinda like the new heads too - it distinguishes them as undead, vs plain old dead skeletons. And undead horses too!

It would be great if they snuck an Ash fig into one of the sets.

Edit: One more thing... I'd love to see some zombies added to the undead army.

I must say I was slightly disappointed with my first impressions:
while it is more classic than before, the design of the castle is quite plain and does not stand out. also, shields seem to be a scarcity: there are so many minifigs yet are equipped with so little shields. I personally like to give every non-bow-and-arrow troop a shield, so this might be quite hard

however, on second looks, I think this line can be the start to much better lego castle sets! the new weapons (well, the morningstar) is very refreshing, and the skeleton horse is really cool. and the skeleton wagon seems very well

the castle, while generic looking, is at least fully walled on all sides, and will at the very least be a set for great parts. It may even look good from the other angle! Lastly, the wizard's stronghold, while tacky-looking, is quite nicely designed and, IMO, can be combined with vladek's castle to make something more exciting :)

the biggest shortcoming, i believe, is the lack of a hero figure which we see far too often from KKII.

Looking good!
I hope Lego improves these prototype sets before release.
I'd rather have a brick built dragon instead of that mostly pre-fab one in the background.
Other than that, every thing else is looking good.

I'm praying that one of the new sets will be an army builder. (depending on what the torsos look like, it's hard to tell in the pic)
Maybe a small $4.99 set with 3 minifigs or something?

This is looking good! I can only hope the final products are this cool. While it might not be classic castle I see a HUGE improvement over KK anything...

I am not a big fan of the skeleton faction, but I can take it if it means these cool other guys! I am really liking the faction insignia (looks like both a crown and a bit like a turret/crenelations). Those small round sheilds better come with something other than skeletons, they are great! The curved swords, classic swords, flail/mace, and look BROWN horses!!! I can't wait for mini fig packs....

Wow. This looks way better than KK2!

I like the idea of a skeleton faction, but I think the old skeleton faces were better. LEGO minifigs should be cute; the mean-looking skeleton face lacks the simple charm of the older one. I think the old skeleton would be perfect if they just made the shoulder joint a little tighter. These skeletons seem to have battle-droid arms, which means they won't be able to hold a sword upright if you think about it.

I think I spy a visored knight crossing the bridge!

I'd like to see bows & arrows, chin-strap helmets, and feathers (for the knight helmets) make an appearance. I hope those curved swords don't turn out to be as rough and "mega-blocky" as they look in the picture.

All in all though, pretty sweet.

If this is a picture of what the theme is going to look like i think its going to be the best year since the beginning of the kk2 series! Yay for good looking sets!

The more I look at the skeleton faction the more I like them. White and black skeleton warriors are cool, a dragon is cool, evil wizard = cool. Mountain club-swinging trolls are way cool. It looks like there is at least one humanoid-type knight there, too, crossing the bridge, (and I agree that crown-faction knight by the bridge may have the pointy visor). Zooming in on the pic shows what does appear to be a princess fig in the cage. Cool. Really like the new castle. Like a fantasy 6080. Looks to me like Lego developed their own LOTR-type fantasy bad guys.

I hope not.

I really don't to pay $5+ on bricklink for her.

As much as I like this new castle faction, I have zero interest or use for the skeleton knights. I'm just not into fantasy stereotypes, so the skeleton warriors don't appeal to me in the slightest. I know I won't be able to justify dropping cash on that set, yet at the same time, I'm not looking forward to being gouged on bricklink either.

Really, more than anything I want a genuine army builder, as the figs themselves appeal to me far more than the sets.
