Rosa awoke. She smelled bacon. Radjar was squatting by the fire holding a frying pan and humming.

Rosa sat up. "What the megabloks are you doing?"

Radjar turned. "Fixing us breakfast. Do you prefer scrambled or over-easy?"

Rosa rasied an eyebrow. "Drullen Bell could be obliterated at any moment and you are frying EGGS?"

"We need our strength...some dry bread wolfed down while walking does not provide that."

"Are you trying to make up for last night?"

"Yes."

"Hm."

Rosa did not glare.

"I am truely sorry about last night. But...why do you react so when I touch you?"

Rosa screamed "If you were raped by sailors throughout your life, you would react when some one touches you!"

Radjar said nothing.

Rosa shudder, a tear ran down her cheek.

Radjar whispered, "I....didn't.....sorry..."

He touched her on the shoulder. She did not draw her knife.

It was almost midnight when BloodVaine and Dacker returned to the lair. Dacker hit the ground panting. Teleportation always made him week. He struggled, coughing, until he got a hold of his blood flask and took a swig. Straitening, Dacker saw BloodVaine standing over the forms of the two brothers.

"You won't get away with this wizard." Reno said reaching for his potions bag."Lord Void tried the same thing and..."

"Looking for this?" BloodVaine said, holding the bag aloft. "As to Lord Void. He may have the brains of a goat but even he would have had control of the pendants if Majesto had brought him the two of you. Oh yes, I know all about that. Many eyes have reported these things to me. You yourself have aided me by destroying Majesto. Not that he could stop me now. No one can. Not even your friends in the keep. I could have killed every one of them had I wanted. They live still, but only because of my urgent business with you. The hour of magic approaches. I must have control of the pendants by midnight."

"We will never give you the pendants." Aros said matter-of-fact-ly. "And what's more, you'll never succeed in your plan. Many others have tried to conquer Dametreos. Bret, Defoe, even Lord Void. Who's to say that someone won't steal the pendants from you."

BloodVaine couldn't help but chuckle. "My allies are better picked then that. And aren't you forgetting the black falcons? They took the bull's lands and destroyed nearly all of their people. So you see such a thing can be accomplished. And in truth, you haven't the slightest clue as to how deeply laid my plans have been. As to the pendants, I will have them tonight. I believe you know this boy."

There was a sudden flash of light and there ,standing in front of them, was a very frightened looking Luxus.
Let us stop for a moment and ponder the signiture...

Ok, enough of that!

Due to some adult situations, Viewer Discretion Advised

"I do not know all of your life. But I promise, if you will tell me, I will not be one of those men. I am not the brute I am put out to be. I have seen the ravages of war. I lost every trace of my family... I have been subject to the shadows of my past... But I push on, because I have people and friends who support me."
Rosa looked at him, tears still in her eyes, his firm arm over her shoulders.
"I... I know. I'm sorry..." she said, wiping tears form her eyes. "We should be going, we may not have much time."
"Yes. Yes, you're probably right." Radjar gingerly took his hand off Rosa's shoulder, and strapped on his armor.
"Denderham is not too far away. I hope this Rodurik friend of yours is worth the journey."

Rosa stuck firmly behind Radjar as they passed on the road to Denderham.
"Tell me Rosa... tell me more about your past."
"I don't really want to talk about it... it's..."
Radjar turned sympathetically towards her.
"You don't have too."
"I think you should know. I was born and raised in Denderham, and I don't know much of my parents. They were very poor, as you might think..."
Radjar grimaced.
"And they died when I was small. Then, Rodurik's family found me on the street. They took me in. I grew up with Rod, but soon I had to do my part for them as well. i went off and ended up as a tavern-girl there, serving drinks to smugglers and pirates, working for a perverted old man. Soon I had to move out, and I was living in the tavern."
Radjar listened attentively.
"During that time I was manhandled and violated by various scoundrels and vile creatures called men, and I ended up here, with you, speaking here."
Radjar stopped. They had arrived.

Lord_Of_The_LEGO wrote:The Old Man retched and clutched the side of the ship, his knuckles white.
The Old Man, Elwen, and Sir Jayko returned with Jack Blackheart to his ship. The Talonjain watched them leave with astonishment, certain they had seen the last of their lord, but mainly glad to have escaped with their lives.

Blackheart's vessel was much faster than the Talonjain passenger ship, and soon overtook it on their mutual journey southwards. The slower vessel faded from sight, and they started to pass slightly westwards.

It was in the middle of their first night thereafter, and the Old Man was on deck alone, staring off towards the south-west, when suddenly he felt something. Away to the north, a powerful sorceror was performing an incredibly tiring feat of magic. The effects rippled throughout the Mana, crashing into all the sorcerors everywhere.

The Old Man was suddenly unsteady. He fell forward, and retched over the side of the ship, clutching tightly at the rail. Behind him, Blackheart had momentarily lost concentration at the helm, and had inadvertantly shoved the wheel hard to the right. He hurried to correct the situation, unaware that anything had really happened.

The Old Man, still shaky at a display of such power, and pondering the evil implications it was sending over the Mana, strode back to the cabin he shared with Jayko and Elwen. Jayko was still asleep when he entered, but Elwen was awake. She did not look good. She was deathly white, and had vomited over the cabin. She was burning with fever.

Even more interesting than I had thought, murmured the Old Man to himself, as he made the vomit vanish, and wiped away its stench with a wave of his hand. Even more interesting...

Trevelayn grabbed his saber and was waving it around, shouting for the commotion to come to a stop.
Barbod yanked him by the shoulder.
"I want you to gather up all the Bull Knights loyal to Lovana, and track her down. This will not be tolerated!"
Tears were streaming down the mighty king's face. Trevelayn nodded.
"It's as good as done, mi'lord," he exclaimed, desperately trying to hold back his suprise at the Bull King's expression.
He walked off, his blue cape billowing behind him, eager to find Lovana and put an end to her treacherous schemes. But first, he needed to find Jack...

Blackheart corrected the mistake as it never happened, yet the cabin door shoved open, and a dark-skinned fellow, face hidden by a red turban, stumbled out, and staggered dizzily on the deck.
"Mahatmi? What is it now?"
Mahatmi climbed up the ladder, swaying from side to side.
"Tyco manna flow," Blackheart cursed.
"Some great disturbance..." Mahatmi said in a thick foreign accent.
"I feel it as well. Something is happening." The Old Man said, worrying thta the Sorcerer King may be attempting a great spell.

The gigantic use of Mana power ricocheted thoughout the world of Dametreos, upsetting the balance of magical power and sending the engery force into a tailspin.
Drock froze stiff for a solid three minutes, staring into the distance with unfocused eyes.
~
In those three minutes Drock bore witness to more events then he could count. Lord Void training a young wizard. Two boys being attacked by a dragon in a forest. A Dark Forest lord being bitten by a vampire. Lord Void stealing pendants from two brothers. A young man stealing some dragons with the help of Coal Blood. An exorcism in the Drullen Bell keep. A Crusader town devastated by a single man. A secret meeting between the Black Falcon king and another shady figure. Two Dragon Masters escaping through a dark forest. A demon, a wizard and a great dragon.
Then the vision changed instead of things past, Drock now witnessed things that hadn't happened yet. These were horrible. Wars, death, men stretched to the edge of their strength and then deserted.

Suddenly it was gone. Drock couldn't remember much, but the horrible feeling was just as strong as before. "What on land was that?" Drock rushed into his brothers chamber "Jarvick, did you feel that?"

Jarvick was Drock's brother, though it was hard to believe the two were related. Where Drock was short and muscled, Jarvick was tall and slender. Where Drock was gruff and blunt, Jarvick was shrewd and refined. Where Drock liked his fists, Jarvick liked his spells. Jarvick dressed differently too. He wore light robes, blue and wavy like the sea. A golden band on his head signified his rank as first sorcerer on the island.

As Drock entered he found his brother hunched over an ancient book.

"Espeg tomea gantose parveg kera-- kera-- Oh blast, a curse on this coded script." He hurled the book across the room. Drock caught it. "What are you doing here, Drock?"

"I was coming to get you. There was this... this. I don't know how to describe it really. Didn't you feel it?"

"Oh, that. Pay it no heed. It came from the main land and doesn't concern us."

"But what dose it mean?" Drock persisted.

"I told you to forget it." Jarvick said angrily. "Now, look at this," He grabbed the book back. "Inscribed here is the exact location of Depe'ceala, the birthing ground of the water dragons. Now that's twice as important as your disturbance."

"Jarvick," Drock said dead serious. "What dose this mean?"

Jarvick glared at drock. The first sorcerer didn't like being crossed. But Drock wasn't afraid. The two brothers had bumped heads before and he was willing to do it again. Finally Jarvick relented. "All right," he said "What it means is trouble. Possibly even the end of Dametreos. Even now actions are being taken to begin this great conflict."

"We have to do something."

"No. If Lord Void sends for us, we will go to his aid but until then we will do nothing. Dametreos may fall but we own the sea. The sea will never be conquered."

Drock considered this. There was wisdom in his brother's words, but that wasn't all. Drock knew Jarvick well and he could tell..... He could tell that his brother was scared.

Daimyo wrote:"It's as good as done, mi'lord," he exclaimed, desperately trying to hold back his suprise at the Bull King's expression.
He walked off, his blue cape billowing behind him, eager to find Lovana and put an end to her treacherous schemes. But first, he needed to find Jack...
Soldiers milled to and fro in the hallways like ants in a kicked nest. The events of the last hour had spread confusion among the normally disciplined troops, and it took several tries before he could find anyone who knew where Jack had last been seen...

****

Trevelayn found Jack in the barracks near the courtyard, where he was just finishing the last bandage on the injured guard's skull. The unfortunate youth Barbod had struck was mercifully still unconscious, though he twitched slightly as Jack laid a poultice across the bridge of his shattered nose. Jack swore to himself, too distracted to notice Trevelayn's approach.

"Brix and blox... the bloody Falcon king won't need to kill off the last of the bulls-- Barbod's going to do a good enough job of it himself!"

Trevelayn laid a hand on Jack's shoulder, and the glare in Jack's eyes as he whirled around made him think that for a split second the incident might repeat itself. Before he could speak, Jack was practically shouting at him.

"What in the gaping blue blazes did Barbod think he was doing!?! Are all of you as mad as moonlight?! The Ranger wants to start a war single-handed, and his Lordship is smashing open his own men like ice-gourds!"

"Lord Barbod... I... we need to find Lovana. The King wants her arrested for treason. And the Ranger as well, maybe."

"Treason? Lovana?" Jack ran his hand though his beard, too distracted to even wash the blood off first. "Why? Because she did whatever she could to save the last of her people?"

"She and the Ranger-- they were dealing with the Falcon King. Barbod thinks-"

"Barbod isn't thinking! That's the trouble! Lovana didn't know-- couldn't have known-- that he was still alive, that there was still a Bull King trying to avenge his people! Lovana took whatever help she could in order to save the last of the Bulls! If she struck a deal with a devil, then her own guilt is the coin she's paid, a hundred times over."

"Lord Barbod wants her and anyone loyal to her brought in-- whatever it takes."

The edges of a smile crept back into Jack's face.

"Aye, then you'd best fetch a firkin of wine and a sprig of posies-- as I've heard it from the guards, she's gone to her sister's place in the settlement. Alone. Her family would probably appreciate it if you knocked first."

The Lone ranger walked past the guards into Barbods room...

“What the megablocks are you doing in here, guards, take him away!”

The bull knighs just stood there...

“Just because you have become king doesnt mean they forget what others have done for them” the Lone ranger neiled down and looked Barbod in the face...

“Bull's blood has stained my sword many times, these are things I regret. But I have payed the price for my sins by giving your people a new hope. I have been called to a meeting by the falcon king, that is why I am leaving, for his army is weak, and he needs counciling from his elders and commanders, I am both...”

“WAIT, you mean to tell me you are a commander and a counciler in the Falcons army!” Barbod snarled at the Lone ranger...

“Indeed I am”

"BloodVaine."

The Arklyndellys Vulondur sliced through the cloud cover like a plow in rich soil, it's half-a-dozen propellers whiring non-stop.

Marus clung to the railing, his face pale green. The motion of the airship was similar to that of a seafairing vessel, and his stomach was not pleased.

"Ugggg...M'lord...does this tyco ship hafta rock so?"

Lord Void glared. "I must admit my skills in piloting are only adiquate, I am usally accustomed to merely relaxing on the deck while a whole crew attended to the whims of the Arklyndellys Vulondur."

"I thought this you said this ship could be manned by a mere three men." said Gib, his brow raised.

"I did say that, for it is true. The Arklyndellys Vulondur needs only a pilot, and engineer and a navigator. Unfortunatly, I realise now we have very few of those skills between us."

"Why couldn't you have gotten a bunch of your soldiers to control this rotten craft?" asked Marus as he retched again.

"Because this mission is solely personal, Marus. Soldiers are handy, but they are also bulky, smelly and loud. Our mission is subterfuge, not a frontal assalt."

"But why do you go on this mission yourself then?"

"Two reasons. One; a commander goes infront of the army, not behind it. Two; never rely on someone else to successfully fulfill a misson. I made that mistake once, I will not make it again."

A pause.

"So where are we now?" asked Marus.

Lord Void activated some controls and lowered the Arklyndellys Vulondur below the cloud cover to observe the land below. After observing the terrain below for a moment or to, Lord Void replied,

"It is obvious we are still above the mainland, perhaps over Classic LEGO or the Crusaders."

"What does the...er...Mana...er...feel like now?"

Lord Void considered. "It still ripples like a pool that has had a rock thrown in, but-"

Lord Void stopped, blinked.

"What?" asked Gib and Marus.

"The Mana power has been tapped again...it seems...yes...a simple teleportation..."

"Can you pinpoint the location?" asked Gib excitingly.

"Not exactly...but I can follow the trail..."

Lord Void flipped some more switches. "Hold on!" he warned as the Arklyndellys Vulondur accellerated, "We must travel fast before the trail fades!"

Confusion insued. Barbod punched the Lone Ranger. The Bull gaurds attacked Barbod. Jack, Trevelayn, Gerrik and the Lone Falcon rushed in. Bulls attacked Bulls. Blood was spilt, weapons were spattered.

When is was all over, three Bulls were dead. The Lone Falcon was out cold. Barbod was wounded, as were Trevelayn, Gerrik and Jack.

The King of the Bulls glared daggers at the Lone Ranger.

"YOU SON OF A SHIFTY BRICK! AM I THE KING OF THE BULLS OR NOT? I HAVE BEEN FORCED TO KILL MY OWN MEN BECAUSE OF YOU!! NOW I WANT SOME STRAIGHT ANSWERS RIGHT NOW OR SO HELP ME I WILL RIP YOU GUT OPEN! DO YOU SUPPORT THE FALCONS OR DO YOU SUPPORT THE BULLS?"

As to the pendants, I will have them tonight. I believe you know this boy."

There was a sudden flash of light and there ,standing in front of them, was a very frightened looking Luxus.
Eroth Gamus was back! BloodVaine chuckled sinisterly as he thought of the power he had gained.

"Now," he said, turning to the three youths. "I have no more use for you. In a way you are rather like the pendants. They have fulfilled their great purpose for evil and can only hinder me now. So I am giving them back to you." He chuckled. "Here you go."

A sudden light shot from the pendants and hit Reno, Aros and Luxus. The light surrounded them like a bubble and then, went straight back into the pendants, taking the three with it. In a moment BloodVaine was on Bahamut and soaring out over the ocean. He raised the pendants.

"Get out of this if you can."

And he dropped them. Down they went, hitting the water with a splash and then sinking down to the depths. Suddenly a whirring filled BloodVaine's head. Someone was trying to reach him with a teleharm.
~
"Dacker!" BloodVaine said as he came back to the main room.

"Yes?" Dacker said.

"I have been informed by my insider that Lord Void has left Dragon Master land. No doubt he is coming to get me, but the fool has left his homeland open. I will be teleporting you and Coal Blood there. You will take control of the fortress. Do this and the debt you owe me will be paid. Stand by for teleport."

Dacker grimaced. He didn't like being teleported but he knew this was important. He clenched his fists and waited for the spell...

Lord Void winced. The Mana flow had been tapped again...and again...and again..and yet again for a forth time. Lord Void attempted to sort out the types of spells....one was a simple teleharm...that was for sure...another one was a teleport, but that last to confused Lord Void. One was a sort of prison spell combined with a shrinking spell. However the forth spell woried Lord Void the most....a rise to power...

Lord Void turned white.

"Tyco!" he swore, "The Eroth Gamus has been rebirthed!"

"What?"

"The Eroth Gamus has become a God-Dragon!"

The Arklyndellys Vulondur suddenly dropped out of the sky.

"What are you doing?!?" screamed Marus.

"The pendants are near, I can feel them!"

G-19

Something was wrong. Deadly wrong. Bourne knew it. He could feel it. The Mana has been disrupted, shattered. The Mana was spiraling, churning, bubbling. Something was rotten in the state of Dametreos. Very rotten.

Bourne sat up. Scratched. Yawned. Drank. Dressed.

Something was rotten in the state of Dametreos.

Bourne peered out the window. The sliver of the moon glimmered through the trees. Bourne extended his sences. Touch. Smell. Sight. Taste. Sound. It was past midnight.

Something was rotten in the state of Dametreos.

Bourne dressed. Packed. Exited his room. Paided his bill. Wandered the streets.

Something was rotten in the state of Dametreos.

Bourne approached the dock. Untied his boat. Raised the anchor. Billowed the sail. Adjusted the tiller. Concentrated.

Something was rotten in the state of Dametreos.

A breeze stirred. A breeze stirred, even though previously it had been a still night. The wind filled the sail, propelled the boat.

Something was rotten in the state of Dametreos.

The single sail boat disapeared into the night, its sole occupant staring, smelling, hearing, touching, tasting. Knowing. Probing. Learning. Feeling.

Something was rotten in the state of Dametreos.

Bourne knew it.

Location: On board the Bombardier, moored in Wraith Cove.
Formendacil wrote:But all he could do was wait. So wait he would. He was the Sorceror-king, and he had infinite patience.
For a while, the time of waiting was over. The Bombardier had reached Wraith Cove. The Sorceror-king made ready to go ashore.

"Sergeant Targon will choose fifty men to accompany him and myself ashore," he told a council of Elbadar, Targon, and Broadside. "We may have trouble with the Fright Knights, so they had best be prepared. I will also be needing the dragon, so the soldiers should be the ones more experienced in its handling. I do not have the patience to do it myself.

"Sergeant Elbadar will command the remaining Dragon Masters. You may take them ashore for exercises, but remain within sight and sound of the ship.

"Captain Broadside will go into the village and reprovision the ship. Be ready to leave within a week. My business should not take long."

The officers saluted, and headed off to their duties. All were fairly pleased with their assignments. Targon was pleased to be given command of the force going with the Sorceror-king. It was his hope that he'd be readmitted to His Majesty's graces. Elbadar was glad that he'd get a chance to stretch his legs, and yet be out of the sight of the Sorceror-king. Only a fool would want to remain with him. Broadside was pleased that he would not only have the opportunity to go into the village, but also explicit permission. He could already taste the ale...

As for the Sorceror-king, he was impatient. The Old Man was not far behind, and he would have liked to have been well away from Wraith Cove before he arrived. The time was not ready for a confrontation. Not yet.
