LEGO, do not abandon the classic swords!

I discovered how to make weapons and armor from ordinary parts, however, and I do not use molded swords or shields svery often.

I find the KK swords very unappealing, they remind me of the sword Aragorn gives Frodo on Weathertop in the PJ Fellowship movie.

I would like to see a long, flaming (serated) style of sword, and maybe a sword-breaker.

I think I'm gonna go build a sword-breaker...

Why do so many people dislike the chrome greatswords? They were fairly realistic, they were used sparingly, and added more variety to the weaponry assortment.

The original minifig armor went well with the orgional minifig helms, swords,and shields..but the chrome blade did not go well with solid-colored armors, or weapons...it did not seem to have the same aesthetic...

i didnt really mind the chrome sword, but it was pretty large and unwieldy. Its not like it could fit in the saddle, (not the "right" way anyway)

nor could you do much else with it except have the guy hold it. And it seemed as though every figure came with it for awhile, so it lost it's specialness..

I'll agree with you on all of those points. It is really realistic if not on the exact scale. They could have used it in less sets. I think I have one for very two regular swords in my collection.

I found a pretty good way to make a minfig wear it. Just use an elastic band for a shoulder strap.

Hi guys!

Due to the sad amount of castle Lego I have, I only ever had 1 "great sword". All my hero minifigs would get this sword because it was speacial.

Unfortunately, the chrome on this sword wore out over time.

Anyway, I don't think there's any reason for TLC to keep the great sword in production.

The broad swords however, are a symbol of Lego Castle and should return to sets once again!

Where did you get that idea? Take a look at 6090, Saxondale Castle. (Royal Knights' Castle) Only the King has a chrome sword; everyone else holds a classic sword. Admittedly, it did become more common after that, but not as much as some people make out.

Oh yes, I know what you mean. I have several chrome swords that have gone all dull white. Such a shame.

I don't agree with you. Why should variety be restricted? And the chrome swords were fairly realistic.

Do you know, when one of my chrome swords scratched, I simply kept scratching. I now have a silver-hilted crystal sword. It looks pretty cool!

I'm a big fan of the greatsword, I think that all leaders should be equipped with one.

Also I have about 20 greatswords yet only 5 castle sets which is rather odd...

I can't stand the KK2 swords... they are all in their own baggie that never gets opened... unless it is to add more of them too.

Maybe someday I'll find a use... I was considering using them as props in a drama guild or something (bright colors, unwieldy size...?)

I will always prefer the original sword (change the color if you must, it would still be better than the others).

I can understand this opinion, but I've managed to overlook the large and shiny factor of them to some degree... a limited selection of figs in my collection use them, although they are not considered "common" in my little LEGO world.

Hi guys!

While the KK2 sword is not the greatest sword TLC has created, it has its uses.

Can't the KK2 sword be used for space knights or something?

If you're into robot building, the swords might be fitted as weapons.

I've even seen a small red boat with a red KK2 sword at the bow of the boat.

But as most people have said: the KK2 sword is too big, and fantasy like. But they don't really look too bad.

Oh well,you can always sell them.

Well, it really depends on were you are holding it. It might be a good idea to hold it at your side, but in the heat of battle most guys wouldn't care about being proper. Rather about staying alive. If the KK2 sword was held in the right the position, it might deflect the other's sword away. But if it was in the wrong position, bye-bye KK2 soldier.

With the cross piece up, you know for certain that you won't be sliced that way.

Has anyone noticed that the KK2 swords are an inferior plastic? All of mine are nicked and scratched and what not. I like the classic swords the most.

Ehh... you just need to use a little imagination...

(Yes, the sword is in there on its' own, no modifications have been made. It will pop out of place, though)
