I did a search but did not think about a candy company selling legos as very likely. Do they do that in the States?

No, they are a Japanese company. The sets are actually rather hard to find outside of Japan. Not impossible, mind you, just hard. ;)

I thought this was a great set. As a child I was always very exicted by the poly bagged sets.

The figure and plates are great. This is a very nice looking minifigure.
Also, especially in contrast to todays line the inclusion of a shield was very nice.

I agree that it is a good army builder, this was also the theme before everything went bad. But sadly it doesn't come with any weapons but 2 cross bows. 8/10

Heir of Black Falcon no where but Japan.

Here’s a link to Bricklink, their are two new copies still for sale, they commonly sold for average $50+ up until about mid 2006. They are a pretty rare set boxed as 4 I would recommend that if Kabaya do it again for the fantasy range you pick them up early from Japanese Bricklink stores/eBay.

They did for Starwars, Adventurers and Ninja

I love the KKI figs. That's enough reason for me to give this set a 10/10. THat, and the quiver.

nice set

I like these KK1 knights, especially the helmets in dk gray and torsos. Two crossbows and a shield - for me very nice set. :D 9/10

If I'm not mistaken, that is Sir John of Maine, not Sir Richard the Strong.

Looks good for what it has, but it needs a sword.

Sorry for intervening. But according to this comic book:

this archer figure is indeed Sir Richard the Strong:

Jojo, I have never seen that comic book! I'm going to have to look for one now...

Thanks,
Josh

Edit: Its totally off-topic, but I just found that comic book on Bricklink and I ordered it. Woot!

I guess I stopped collecting by this time. The closest we got to names was black monarch, falcon or the king.... :D I somewhat liked it like that. The wizard coming with a name was ok except since he came with every set almost you had to rename a few of them.

Never have seen a lego comic before. Interesting.

Just a quick question-- I remember reading somewhere (I haven't found it again) that 'Cedric was once king Leo's most trusted knight' or something to that effect. Anyway, it implied some sort of fall from grace that I thought was intriguing-- is that tidbit represented in the comic book?

As for this set, I bought 21 of 'em back in 2001 or so. I recall thinking it was a great price for a minifig, even if it meant I was stuck with having 21 extra 4x4 black turntables!

I have seen that, yes, but according to the lego magazine that featured those sets, it is the other way around. I think the lego cannon is a little ambiguous on that point.

But Lord Eor is right. We digress.

God bless.
