notice I said the "right"** way :D

Of course it will also fit if you point it upwards..

**Oh yeah, this does not imply or is meant to be the end all or only way to put the sword. "right" in this context is very tongue in cheek. (I thought I should point that out to stave off a lecture on what is right and wrong about lego sword usage.. )

Classic Lego Swords

Post by Pacificus »

I agree with everyone (though I am replying two months later) about the production of the classic broadsword. I would like to see more black broadswords (though that would greatly affect the price of one specific item in the economic system that is Bricklink).

I agree. Bring them back TLC and/or maybe make a new type of short sword. How about one that is a piercer type blade.

Definately bring back the old swords... the new ones not only look worse they're harder to use... and while you're at it how about old grey ; )

Amen Brudda!

Bring back the retro swords! Let us indulge in strong plastic, not flimsy stuff!

I agree with bringing back the classic swords. Or at least mold the KK2 swords in realistic colors.

Gosh, I feel awkward here.... Umm, I kinda like the new swords(waits for other members to stop throwing rotten veggies). I use them for my charactor Kurek Halfelven. His mother was an elf and he inherited a magic elf sword from his grandfather. However, I'm all for the old swords coming back(I had one and I lost it)! I only have three swords, not counting scimitars and including the KK2 sword. The other two are chrome broadswords (Silver & Gold). So I say Bring 'Em Back!

Just replying to show my support of the classic short sword. I always loved them, I always will. I didn't even like the chrome greatswords when they first came out (although I will admit they do have their uses sometimes, just more of a two-handed, with out shield type).

So, please re-produce the classic swords, or ones much more like them (ie: ones that can fit point down on the saddles).

Same here. And, LEGO, if you do remake the old swords, please make them in the stronger plastic of their earlier production, and not the easily broken ones of KK1 and the last accessory pack.

Learning French.

Say it "ESS-MICK-GIN-ISS", with a hard "G", as in "get".

Actually, now this is not quite true. I traded some stuff with a friend, and for a smiley head, 2 pink mugs, and a pair of light blue legs, I got a katana, a cutlass, a longbow, a samurai helmet, a bullet helm, and..... A Classic Shortsword! I still want them to come back, though, so I can get more.

So delete it. You have that power, deep inside...

Anyway, I disagree. I'd like to see something new, period. I think that LEGO should have kept KKII swords to KKII and not exported to Vikings, because there was potential ther for a new, inspired design. If we keep looking back to the "golden age", we're going to miss the new gold. *cough* Vikings *cough*

My twopence. I'm not anti-classic, but you can get any flavor of that on Bricklink. I, for one, find myself wanting to see if TLG can move ahead while harking back. so to speak.

EDIT: Pertaining to this:
