Your question is flawed. You have no KK1 sets as choices. Those sets are KK2.

I believe you must mean, what I refer to as: KK2 v.1

And, I think you've got this in the wrong forum...

And I'll have to go with border ambush. Knight is passable (if just barely), plus you get a shadow knight (if you're into that sort of thing, I'm not) plus you get some reasonably usuable parts and a crap-load of spears...

I voted Citadel of Orlan, because it's got a cool blacksmith guy, a stained-glass window, and the basic idea of the climbing vines was pretty cool, it just needed to lose the Barnacle junk. Erm, Bionicle junk. Erm, Bionicle. junk

Incidentally, why did so many people vote for "Vladek Encounter"? :?

Hmmm...

Okay, so these are Knight's Kingdom 2.1... got it.

Best set in terms of my subjective ranking of how much I like it, the features, the minifigures and the parts?

I really liked the Citadel of Orlan, or at least I wanted to but some things bug me about it's open and more platform construction than I care for. I also can't stand the introduction of the GIANT castle wall piece in this set. I remember browsing the TRU selection when new and selecting this set. It really disappointed me to find pictures of the green knight all over the box wearing plate armor only to find that the green plate was not included. I called LEGO and they agreed that it was a printing error and went ahead and sent me the green plate armor in a plain envelope, but the majority of buyers would be required to buy the more expensive Crapsle of Mor-ick-a in order to get that green plate armor.
Ixnay on the Itadelcay.

I suppose of the remainder of your choices (the promotional Siege Tower and Knight's Pass or the Roseart game?) leaves me to consider the Border Ambush as my favorite because of price and parts. As a stand alone set however... it fell appart to often and too easy with light pressure for my 6 year old. For the AFOL and clearance sale hunter it was a great source for parts... though I'm not fond of red knights.

I think I would have chosen the Vladek Encounter if the parts selection had been better. At the time I was very impressed with the armor of the purple knight. Just having two plate armor sets in one package after not being able to get it from any set less than $100 for almost ten years (forget S@H baggies for a minute) made it pretty hot at first.

They all are in desperate need of remodeling and re-arming for battle. I think that in reality they are all best as part sets unless you happen to be into that whole Power Rangers/ Mystic Knights of Tira-na-nog or what-have-you. It's a good thing that after that initial dissappointment I had with the Citadel that I was able to find great deals on clearances for these sets.

I would have to say with favorate, or at least the one I disliked the least, was the Citadel of Orlan, becasue I really like the old guy fig. I use him for a unarmed combat trainer. :D

I voted valdek encounter because it had horse armor and the most useable of the jelly armors (valdeks). My least favorite has to be the grand tournament, who could possibly want carts instead of horses?

I would have to say Citadel of Orlan, for the old guy (like everyone else), the design of it, and all that other good stuff. Grand Tournament has to be one of my least favorite ones, I hate those horses.

I refuse to vote, the KK2.1 line is ridiculously bad and kinda contributed to me getting into a dark age!

Definitely Vladek Encounter! :) My Black Cavalry comes from multiples of this set (bought on sale for ca. 1.50 dollars each).

Colourful knights, zwords and the very poor design of all buildings in KKII would make this theme completely useless for me, were it not for the Vladek and Shadow Knights figs. (Oh, and dark red bricks are nice, too.)
