Is this just a factory mishap or a rarer version of the red-bridled brown horse?

Its the new reddish-brown horse from 7092. I actually just got one this weekend and was pleasantly surprised that the bridle color was different.

I also noticed this in the new castle 2007 sets. The metal pieces of the bridle are printed in silver, which is the first time that has been done. I like how this looks.

We have not seen brown horses in castle since Fright Knights. The black probably stands out much better in the new red-brown color than a red bridle.

Wow good catch E of Alshire, I would not have known of this. Now there are 6 different kinds of horses (white, black, brown, reddish-brown, painted, pony)!

I noticed this when I got my Prison Wagon set a while back, and now that is my favorite horse.
The silver and black printing looks very sharp!

Great to see brown horses once again.

Does this horse only come with the prison wagon? Because that's the only set that I won't buy unless the horse is in it.

Awesome, thanks for the replies. I knew that horse would be reddish Brown but never thought they'd have changed the bridle as well! It's definitely for the better, in my opinion.

The old bridles would have been mostly invisible on the new color horse. Now all we need are more color changes on the horses themselves.

Yes. As far as I know, all the other (regular - i.e. not skeleton) horses in the 2007 sets are white.

I was just about to post a topic about this. Probably my favorite horse yet, great job Lego! I like the dark gray saddle too.

That is the only reason I'm going to buy the Skeleton Carriage set! :D I'm am very pleased with this horse and the bridle color. I have 5 white horses, 2 black and 1 brown, though over 75% of the horses I see IRL are brown! I really need to get more brown horsies.

Yes the horse looks great. I bought the skeleton carriage only for completion's sake. On bricklink you can get about four of them for the same price. Still pricey, but don't just buy that set for the horse. I'll wait to get more, eventually they'll come out in cheaper sets (I hope!)

I picked up a second Skeleton carriage, because as well as the brown horse, knight and footman it's nice to have another three skeleton horses, skellies with the cool helmets, the black turret pieces and the spindle fences. The other bricks are useful enough too, plenty of ordinary enough ones good for any custom models.
