Minas Tirith

Hello everybody,
I am proud to present my most ambitious MOC yet: the city of Minas Tirith. I already mentioned here that I was planning to build it and after almost a year of building on and off, it is finally ready.
So
this is the folder when public and
this is a preview.
I tried to create the same overal impression as Minas Tirith in Peter Jackson's movies of the Lord of the Rings. However, I paid special attention to details and events from the books.
Comments much appreciated.
Best regards,
Stefan
PS: I wanted to enter the CCCV, but as most of my bricks were in this MOC, I reluctantly decided to wait for the next contest...
PPS: Thanks to Anthony Sava for some torso designs I used and thanks to my lovely wife for creating the Swan emblem.

Wow! That is awesome Astuanaks. I have always wanted to see a well done Minas Tirith MOC and you have exceeded my expectations!

Very nice! I'm a huge Tolkien fan, too, so this is very good. It obviously doesn't have the 7 levels, but I like it anyway. Building all 7 levels completely would be insane.

Truly an epic MOC and it will take me a while to look over all the details. But one of the things that caught my eye is the road sign, I love it!

I try to be sparing in my use of this term, but this MOC deserves it....
Sanctified Bovine!!!
If TLC were to tackle the LOTR license, this is what Minas Tirith would look like. You have set a standard, IMO.
Well done.

Unbelievable work. I love the way that you managed to incorporate all of the important facets of the city, while still keeping it (relatively) small. A very ambitious project, to be sure, that was carried out with great success.

I am going to try for maybe Osgiliath, since my supply of gray and white has reached a high point.
This is an awesome creation. It may not be very accurate according to the real MT, but it is really good non the less. Great Job!

That's a fantastic model! I really like how it captures the idea and atmosphere of the place in such a reduced space (saying that, it's pretty huge, bigger than anything I've ever built!)

Splendid creation, Stefan! Very well done indeed! I especially like the road sign, various statues, House of Healing and Gandalf.
I see you have the wizard from set 5614 The Good Wizard as a healer/herbalist. Nice touch!

Hey,
This is an amazing creation and a great extension upon your previous work. There are all kinds of things to admire here, but my favorites are probably how you did the tops of these two towers:
I'd love to see you stage other scenes in/around Minas Tirith, particularly from the battle, like Gandalf vs the Witch King at the gate.

This is really cool! you kept it small, but yet crammed so much detail in there! This looks like how the LEGO company would build it. Very cool!

Stunning certainly comes to mind.
As always there are things that could be done to "improve" upon a creation; however, as I am not willing to pony-up and make my own, then I will just keep my yap shut and enjoy your creation.
Beautiful job.

This is beautiful! There are just too many things to mention, but I'll start with the towertops, as Bruce pointed out... The shield signpost... It's all great. I can't wait for your next MOC!

That's pretty impressive. My only complaint, and maybe this is just because its winter, but all the white looks like snow. It looks like the Gondorians are living in a fancy igloo.
Now, I know its the white city and all that, but I wonder how it would look if you swapped the light grey for dark grey and the white for light grey.
Other than that, it looks fantastic. Your structures and landscaping are very good.

Wow, its quite stunning. I went throught the pictures twice, so I didn't miss anything, because there is just so much.
For your next creation, will this be taken down for parts, or would you ever add maybe, another level?
Not that I'm suggesting it or anything.....
Do it! Do it!
