Things that twist my bricks...

Post by LEGOFREAK »

Ok, so this is a little negative, but it's mostly just a rant. These are the sorts of things that I don't lay awake at night freaking out over, but when it happens it irks me.... and then I move on. :D

Feel free to add...

*people who refer to Playmobile as Lego

*my kids friends who pocket my customs or cool pieces when they come over to play with my kids.

*people who offer to give me a box/bag of Lego, and 90% of it is some other clone brand or even some other type of toy like those weird plastic tinkertoy type things...

*Megablocks

*Not having the space to have my Lego out.

*When I drop a really cool MOC and it smashes into a bazillion pieces

*When I have the money for a set I want, I can't seem to find the set, and when I don't have the money, I find the set I want for 40% off

This is one that gets to me too. I'm, at least, able to have some out, but its really cramped and not conducive to building.

Really? I've never heard that. It's almost understandable to confuse one interlocking brick company with another but Playmobil? Weird.

I'm usually a pretty nonviolent person but those kids should be beaten.

I think that's fine.
But what gets me is the fact that Mego is the one who makes all the tanks and Fighter jets.

*Giving my carpeted and heated LEGO room to my wife and moving my LEGO to the un-carpeted, poorly lit and COLD basement garage. *Sigh*

* Good intentioned relatives whom you like and do not wish to offend that buy you Megablocks (or other clone brands) as a present not knowing/realizing it isn't LEGO.

*When you buy a vintage set off ebay that is advertised as "100% complete" and you get it and it's missing a bunch of random pieces. Have had this happen at least 3 or 4 times now.

-Having Barbies in the isle right across from the LEGO isle.
-Having Megabloks in the same isle as the LEGO sets.
-Having people refer to Megabloks as "LEGOs." I had that happen one, too. I had to try my hardest to not blurt out "Those are Megabloks. The LEGO is over here."

*Having to explain to co-workers that LEGO can be a hobby while they're laughing at the bricks on your desk.

*Telling your wife in detail about the one set you really want for Christmas and having her buy you a tie instead.

*That growing sense of dread when your kids need a piece to complete their MOC and you hear one of them mention "Daddy's room".

*Megablocks.
