TLG have said they're done with the Legends series. They've denied the inclusion of Castle in the Vintage Minifigure Collections. They're not doing elves, and to top it all, Classic Castle has recently been upgraded and needs a poll regarding the subject matter of all things Castle.

Hypothetically, if you could have any faction back from the sets of yesteryear either as was or reworked, who would it be?

I've left Castle subthemes like Ninja and Vikings off the list. There's a limit of ten options too, so KK2 has been omitted. If you want to shout at me for leaving it off and declare your undying love for the theme in the process, go for it.

(I would say forestmen, but that would prevent Elves. And no one wants that.)

I Think it would be nice for some more legends but understand TLC's view point as well. I wish I had been collecting when Black Falcon's Fortress came around again!

I am still holding on for elves though. 2010 baby!

I did think of making it a two-vote thing, but that makes it all too easy.

None as I would rather see new stuff (Bring on the Griffin knights!).

I voted Forestmen. It would have to be seriously reworked though. Brown trees instead of black, more detailed torso designs, and figs and set designs ambigious enough to be seen as Elves if TLC does side with stupidity and not go that direction. Crusaders and or Black Falcons would look awesome as reworked factions as well. So many possibilities with all the new pieces and colors that were not available in the past

I think these factions got pretty short runs and should have had more sets. The Bulls didn't even get a fort.

Other than the forestmen, I'd rather see a new faction rather than rehashing the classic factions. I understand that there are some fans who feel the need to line up hundreds of the same minifig, but I'd like more variety in my ranks. Newer builders could amass large numbers of another new faction (other than the Crownies), while older fans could add yet another noble family to their lineup of figs. Everybody wins.

The one exception is the forestmen. Unlike the other factions, I've never viewed the forestmen as an organized military unit so I'd have no problem with the return of the forestmen. In fact, I liked the dark-forest varriant on the forestmen theme simply because the line wasn't so uniform. With the wider range of peasantry we've been blessed with, these guys would blend in great into medieval villages.

I chose Black Falcons over Forestmen because I only need a handful of Forestmen whereas I'd like a whole army of Black Falcons.

If I had to choose one, I would choose Black Falcons. I always liked their faction and wish I had more of them. On top of that, I would expect they would update them. Newer torso prints (like some with visible chain mail) and newer flags would be nice. The only real compromise I see as possibly being a problem is that their sets would be like current sets (fantasyesque). I like the current sets. I like the current villains. I just wish if they were to bring them back, at least their castle would slightly less on the fantasy side. Have them fight orcs and skeletons all they want, I am fine with that. If not the Falcons, then either the Forestmen or the Wolfpack so we can have a human faction that isn't necessarily allied with the Crownies or the invading hordes.

This. Although, the Dark Forest was pretty much a Forestman reboot anyways, wasn't it? Also, now that we have cows, we can have real Bull Cavalry.
