Okay, I was just perusing this forum, and I thought that with summer beginning, there are likely to be more "hi, just to let everyone know, I am going away for N days" and "hi, just to let everyone know, I'm back!"

And I thought that maybe a thread should be created to post going away and returning messages (in theory, no one would reply on that thread). I dunno what the admins think, but its an idea I had.

Seems like a good idea to me. It would really keep the board from cluttering during high-percentage-of-leaving times of the year (ie, summer, late december). Of course, I think there're some non-northern-hemisphere people here too, so if that is you please switch around the previously mentioned seasons (okay, back to semi-nerdy...).

Dont think that complicated! When people are back from wherever they might have been for awhile they will eventually post to any theme in any thread somewhere in these forums. So when replying to these guys' posts you say "Hi Snoopy, nice to see you back onboard! As for the blabla [theme-related pribble-prabble] ..."

Theoretically it's not even necessary to announce one's return because it's obvious somebody has returned when he's posting to the forums.

People will see you when you'll come back. This forum don't need this.
