The short version is, Lego is holding a poll on TRU to help choose the design of a future town set, based on three sketches.
Here is the link to the TBB story:

And here is the link to the voting:

My personal favorite is option one...

I had give my vote to option one as well. I really would like to see more than one or two trees in this set and as many as the leaf/vine parts as possible.
The truck stop just isn't very interesting to me ( I can see the Lot Lizard jokes now).

I voted for option 2. I think that one is the most interesting.

On paper I liked the idea of the first option, but seeing the prelim art, I am a little interested in the transport centre.
It reminded me a lot of the original Town monorail- if it's this and not just some lame bus stop i'd be interested in it being produced as well. Like the SW playset vote it's a shame only one will be developed and finalised.

#1 kinda looks like the Town Plan:

I wouldn't mind getting #1 or #2.

Given the voting is done through Toys R Us and their kid customers tend to flock to trucks, you KNOW the truck stop theme will win. Still, if it is a fully fleshed out theme like the current construction theme they've got going with 6 or more sets ANY of those choices would be great fun.

Hey, remember this? We were asked to vote on a new town set. Brickset now has high definition pictures of the upcoming result:
8404, City Public Transport
Looks like a nice set for town fans - 6 nice figs, 4 vehicles (1 car plus a street cleaning truck in addition to those above), some minimal structures. No price information yet.

Whilst it looks nice enough as a set, that bus/coach is decidedly small...

I am shocked that this set was picked, but I rather thought it would have been in the range of $129 or more, included two road baseplates and perhaps some track for the trolley. As it stands, at least the price will likely be more reasonable and the designs and elements are quite pleasing. I hope it is a trend for things to come.
