CCCVII Entry: Castle of Illusion

Post by TooMuchCaffeine »

Here's my entry for the Fantasy Castle category, "Castle of Illusion"...

Image

Been kicking this idea around for ages, but it never quite came off whenever I tried it. Finally cracked it last week, quite pleased with how it worked out.

100% photoshop free (except for background removal).

That is absolutely brilliant. I looked at the first picture for quite a while trying to figure out how you did it. I had to give up and look at the second one. Very neat idea, you really pulled it off well.

Excellent! This is a tough trick to pull off, and you did a class-A job of it. I think I've seen the tribar done with LEGO before, but on a much smaller scale. An entire castle built this way is just a brilliant effect!

I especially like that the architectural style you chose looks just like an Escher print, which I suppose you were going for.

I was so focused on the main illusion that I almost missed the one by the tree, well played! I actually really like the tree, and the concept of the little square garden in the water looks wonderful. Great idea that is well executed!

Wonderful build. I spent quite some time enjoying it. Escher would be proud.

Great job!

When I first saw it I was so confused on how you could do that with lego, but then I went to the next picture and thought I was so stupid, great job with the photography, though the photoshop isn't the best job. Brilliant!

Very good! When I looked at the first photo i was like, "What? Illusion; there's no illusion." :? Then I looked at the second photo( :o ) and I saw how easily I had been tricked. Great job!

I've always LOVED M. C. Escher's artwork, your obvious inspiration.

This build is just fantastic on so many levels. Good job. If was judging this contest, I'd be way too biased towards this one

Very MC Escher. I love it. The use of perspective is great, perfect for a wizard.

That moc and it's camera angle is amazing. It took me a while to figure out how you did it. Nice job!
