I'd also like to see the return of the Forestmen, one of my fav. castle factions. :)

Forestmen are thieves who steal for the poor (a somewhat honorable thing in a time of extreme corruption).

Wolfpack steal for themselves and will kill you if you get in their way!
But aren't Wolfpack poor themselves? So they steal for the poor, as well!

Anyway, I think if they do bring back the Wolf people (which I hope they do), how about giving them actual wolves (grey dogs)?? I think that's a great idea! AND it would be a great opportunity to finally bring in the brown bear! It could be either fighting with the Woflpack (bears and wolves usually dislike each other), or be a tamed one, working on their side.

I totally vote for Wolfpack, followed closely by the Forestmen. But in all reality, I don't want any themes brought back. I want new ones!

I suppose that brings about the question; what exactly is a new theme? If we had forestmen who had different heraldry for example, would this be a new theme or a resurrection of the forestmen theme? We've seen castle as a whole die and return on several occasions with a various assortment of knights along the way. Is having the forestmen come back in a different incarnation actually the resurrection of an old theme?

That's a very good point. I would say a different "incarnation" or different heraldry would be a new theme, at least in my book. For instance, the Forestmen did have a second incarnation. Lego called it "Dark Forest" but it was really more Forestmen. They looked a little different and the trees were brown instead of black, but they had the same heraldry. I wasn't crazy about it. So I guess, for me anyway, it boils down to heraldry.

I find it funny that the 'Dark' Forestmen have lighter trees than the 'not dark' Forestmen.

I wonder if the collectible 'figs are parts of new themes or just one-offs? I've been hoping it means new Forestmen...

Mors, sorry for the somewhat unclear post. What i meant was that in their theme the bulls seemed like a roving band of mercenairies. Mercenairies were known to be unscrupulous characters who often stole and murdered as individuals, but when together they formed a real coherent fighting force. Since moste people either want a faction to be thieves or to be an army, the bulls are a good choice because they are both. Bulls, Mercenaries=thieves+army, everybody wins :D

Personally I would like to see the return of the Black Falcons. As was previously stated, they have cool heraldry. Take that and use it on new and improved torso designs (visible cloth and armor bits, belts, etc) and it would be a real winner. Their castles were also nice. A modern take on the Black Falcon Fortress could be interesting.

If not them, then probably the Forestmen (or Wolfpack, or both as the two sides to one theme). They were cool and their sets were somewhat different from the castles. Like any other faction that would be updated, their torso prints would be much better if they used current standards. Either of these might also increase the odds for more peasants/women. With these, we would likely see far more wooden structures/tree fort type set ups as well.

Well... then I would rather see forestmen or the Wolfpack back. They seem more different from regular factions than the Bulls... more stealthy, maybe.

And, come on, the Bulls were part of Knights' Kingdom, a subtheme from times I think we would all agree weren't good for LEGO Castle...

Forestmen, straight out*.

As for the overall niceness of seeing it come back, I believe TLG's set quality** has deteriorated since the early 2000's, but with the amazing-er*** figs as of late, Forestmen would make a smashing return****.

Thar's mah deux sense*****,

* Not sure if this is a term, but I came up with it on the spot and I like it.
** As in how they look structurally.
*** Not sure about this either, but i like it as well.
**** As we see here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/sirdano/4143998411/ (#11)
***** What about this?

Even as a relative newcomer to Castle, I have to say that the Forestmen seem the most enticing out of all the old subthemes/factions, and the ones that would benefit most from a design update. Especially with the new shades of green and brown that are available.

I thought I already posted in this thread, but I don't see my message.

Forestmen, obviously. And I agree that dark green and dark brown would look great on some new Forestmen sets.

I've only grown up with the new castle sumtheme, however I'd say either forestmen or fright knights from what i've seen.

But if the bulls came back it would most likely be with crownie style buildings and bull style figs, weapons, and a large siege weapon count. I think that almost everyone loved KK1 style figures, and I for one would love KK1battlepacks. I also like siege weapons and would like to see some more. Most of all I would like to see an actual Bull castle. My reasoning would mean they would have some sort of wooden castle for $100 and a smaller possibly forest-ish set for $40, with the rest being either seige weapons or civillian sets. The original KK1 was crap with nice Figs, but now that TLC is on a good streak a second try could be awsome. Just tryin' to explain my opinion a bit better, and FYI foresters or wolfpack would be my 2nd choice :)
