KK1 should come back

Post by Sir Garth »

Really, it should, Lego should have kept producing those sets, I liked them really much, the chrome pieces where very cool, I liked the common soldiers from king leo, to. King Leo himself could easily be changed into a soldier, and the bulls form the excellent heart of any army (and their siege weapons had cool pieces)
*And the bulls arrive in kk2*
Cedric the bull: "Hahaha Leo we're here to- wtf?"
*and the bulls see some happy knights bouncing at each other with carts*
Cedric (shocked): "I guess we got the wrong KK''
Bull soldier (frightened): "Lets go back"

Although it would be nice with this KK2 we have now, TLC will probably never crank ol' King Leo off the assembly line again. They never brought back any other original castle when that would have been a hit, did they? If I were you, I'd get over to Brickbay and buy some more pieces before they get too rare if you like them so much. I already did, you can get some pretty good deals if you look hard enough.
Sitting in a midnight glade
Firelight dancing off burnished blade
A Forestman sits
Wondering about the next day
But after three mugs of ale
Let it bring what it may.

Brickbay? BrickLink's old name before EvilBay forced them to name change?

The minifigs and chrome sets made up the good of kk1. The minifigs were actually some of my favorites. The bad, however, is everything else.

After seeing the dismal excuse for set and minifig design in KKII, I am also looking back more fondly on KKI. Those sets had disappointing fig counts and the Castle had a sail, but at least the figs were generic enough you could build an army out of them. Today and KKII, not so much. :(

*sigh*
remember the good old days of Fright Knights?
Gee that Willa Witch sure was a swell minifig.

:D
Ok that was wrong, but I too liked the KK1 line. It came with a woman warrior  always a cool idea, and for footsoldiers it couldnt be beat. I liked the deal you could get at SAH for about two bucks you got a knight with a shield, a turntable a crossbow a hinge and a brick with the cross in the middle (you know to put the technic axles in?). It also came with a four by four green plate too.
I tell you it was one of the biggest orders I made. Great army builder.
(of course its a little army, but its a fun one. :D)

(This guy right here:)

KK1 was the best line yet for fig designs, and it came with a pile of great army-builder sets.

The design was crap, but since most of us prefer our own designs, that doesn't matter too much. At least the grey was the right sort.

Sigh.... remember the good old days, not that we thought of them as such at the time? I hope that the next version of Castle isn't so much worse that we'll be looking back on KK2 fondly. But we probably will be. :(

Good point Formendacil. Now I really am beginning to like KK2, whats next. A set for $20.00 USD with 1 pink knight with no armor, just a pink helm, and a trans-purple BURP.
