Amon Hen

Post by Blego7 »

A collaborative build for Brickfair 2011 between myself and my good friend Jack Bittner. The MOC, depicts the scene of Amon Hen from the book/movie Lord of the Rings, Fellowship of the Ring. Please go check out Jacks page as well, because this is as much his build as it is mine. Also, more pictures and details can be found at MOCpages,Brickshelf and Flickr. We built this to be modular in the sense that it is in 6 different sections that are easily assembled.

All pictures link to flickr, though I suggest that you look at the MOCpages for much more details and pictures. :classic:

Thank you all for looking! Once again I would really appreciate it (and I hope you would to) if you took a look at the MOCpage/flickr/brickshelf for better detailing and descriptions.

Also note that this won best Vignette and best Sci-fi at Brickfair 2011.

Comments/suggestions/criticisms/praise/other are always welcome!

Blake

It's an amazing build in all aspects. The water and waterfall look great, the ruins are perfect, the canyon wall, the trees, the grass, the figs, all amazing. You and Jack did a grand job, thank you very much for sharing.

This is all kinds of awesome!

While it's pretty big for a vignette, it's easy to see why it won. This is easily one of the most impressive LTOR builds I've seen in my time as an AFOL. I love the colour transitions in the rock face and the waterfall is incredible. Landscaping isn't easy to do so it's always nice to see something done this well. I'm not going to waste your time with any suggestions as the MOC is clearly well-built and any criticisms would essentially amount to needless nitpicking.

Consider me genuinely impressed.

It's wonderful. I remember seeing this part. By the way is the troll with the crossbow suppose to be the leader that shoots him?

The build is amazing which only makes me wish more for some more original orcs in lieu of the vanilla fantasy trolls...
Truly though, great building. The landscaping is gorgeous. I particularly like the colouring of the rocks on the bank.
...and that's how Equestria was made!

My internet has been down for about 3 days so when I saw this on the Brothers-Brick, I was like...amazing! No detail has been spared in this creation. The waterfall, the trees, the slanted slopes for the dried out river. Awesome! There's not much to say other than, epic work.

Wow! Everything is extremely well built. My favorite parts are the dried up river bed and the strata on the riverbed. The fig posing was well done too.
You would rather be building right now.

My favorite part is the waterfall. It looks like real water!

This is classic. Very well done. The landscaping, the waterfall, the Seat of Seeing, all top shelf. Do not be suprised about all the praise, this moc earns it well.
