Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread
Adam, if you're volunteering to do this for all factions, then we should set a deadline for photos to be turned in in order to be included in the group photo. Then, maybe we can have updates every couple of months so that new members can be added.
Members should also denote what faction they belong to so that it's easier for you to figure out. I think Ieuan's idea is for each faction to have their own "group photo" that can be added to the first post of each faction thread.
We also can divide up the work by faction. For example, Ieuan can handle Loreos, you can handle Outlaws, I can do Garheim, and someone can volunteer to do Lenfald.

I can do all of them, it is no problem. You can send me a message either here or on Flickr withAK_Brickster wrote:Adam, if you're volunteering to do this for all factions, then we should set a deadline for photos to be turned in in order to be included in the group photo. Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread
So, while going through and looking at the guild format, something struck me as odd, so I figured I'd post it up here. The guilds follow a reasonable line of tasks, quests etc, and are fairly well set up excepting that there is no actual guild representation required of those making the MOCs. What I mean is this- How do the guilds know you have completed your tasks and are eligible for memberships/increased rank? Since LCC is told through the eyes of the characters of each of its participants, it would make more sense (at least imho) if the people building for guilds were required to have an actual member of the guild (not like, a fellow lcc member, but an npc guild representative) in each of their guild mocs, to observe the prospective guildmembers progress, and grant them membership/increased rank when the designated tasks have been completed. Otherwise it would seem that the guilds just hand out ranks based on word of mouth, or hearsay.
I also think, a cool addition to each of the guilds would be a sign up challenge, whereupon you have to show your character actually applying for membership at one of the various guild institutions across Roawia. (sort of like a precursor to the actual guild gruntwork)
Anyway, that's just my two cents.

Well, I think this is all about honor and trust and honesty. I don't think that a lot of us will be willing to lie just to get a few more points, that would be considered kiddish and untrustworthy. And there is a person watching this. AK_Brickster. Every time you make an entry into the Guild, you post the link in the topic. Every now and then, AK will take those links, and put them in the 2nd post (I think it is the 2nd post) of the thread, showing what you have done, and have the links to them. Ex. Apprentice mocs 1, 2, 3, journeyman mocs 1, 2, 3, etc. I hope this helps!Lord Mercat wrote:So, while going through and looking at the guild format, something struck me as odd, so I figured I'd post it up here. Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread
Not exactly what I meant. What I was trying to say was that there should be guild representation in the world of Roawia (like in the mocs themselves) versus here on the forums with our omnipresent view.
I don't think anyone would lie about builds to get points at all, (and from what I can see in the topic Ak brickster does a great job) I'm simply stating that the guilds in Roawia (in the fictional world) have no clear way of knowing that you've completed a given task. For example- how would the heroes guild know that you've fought off a group of bandits all by yourself for the impossible odds challenge? It would be like saying you did community service without proper documentation, you might have done it, but there isn't any solid proof.
Like, for example, if my lego character wanted to join the heroes guild- it would make more sense (IMO) if the guild builds were moc'd with a lego npc guildsman observing the tasks.

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread
I see your point, but keep in mind that in medieval times, most stories were spread by word-of-mouth. Also, it would be very difficult to somehow have a guild NPC constantly present for your various tasks, particularly for the heroes and mages guilds.
Think of the guilds not so much as in-world organizations, but more like bonus tasks to enhance your enjoyment of the LCC project.
Thanks for the feedback!

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread
Okay, that works, so its meant to be more of a structure for a series of cool MoCs versus an in-game organization. That's cool then, thanks!

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread
Yes, I would say that's probably the most accurate. Feel free to refer to the heroes guild or mages guild etc., in your stories, but the structure of those organizations isn't really a very formal one, in-game

Re: Lands of Classic Castle - Discussion Thread
I am not sure if this is the correct thread but I have a question regarding the map. If our characters come from a fictitious place we have invented based on a location on the map, can these places ever be appended to the map? I can understand if this might not be possible as everyone could invent there own village/town and things could get out of hand. I was just wondering.

Hey, does anyone know what the official LCC stance is toward computer-generated "Lego" builds?
Personally I don't think that they should be allowed (at least, not for competitions), but I wanted to see what the KC and other LCCers had to say about this.

Honestly, I don't think they should ever be allowed, only because it's not 'real' building, IMHO.Andared of Lenfald wrote:Hey, does anyone know what the official LCC stance is toward computer-generated "Lego" builds?
