Medieval Pop-up book

Post by 74louloute »

Hi Classic-Castle, long time no see !

Here is my latest MOC depicting the Château de Lunéville, in Lorraine, France.
On the cover of the book, you can find the heraldry of Freistroff : the left part is the blazon of Lorraine, and in the right the blazon of family Valcourt-Freistroff.

Inside the Château, you can find the Duc Stanislas Leszczyński, in its bed.

He died in an accident at the age of 88 years old. His bed burned while he was sleeping. A little maid saved him from the fire but he died several days later.
The MOC is made for the L13 contest on Brickpirate.net where you have to build something related to Lorraine, France.

Does the building erect itself as the book is opened, or do you have to manually flip it up once the book is open?

These pop-up things fascinate me. What a terrific job you've done here!

Wow, I have never seen a pop up in lego before! That is excellent! I like how you did the crest on the front.

It stands up by itself as the book is opened. You can watch the video to see. :)

Wow this is fantastic. Not only does it look great and genuine, but the fact that it actually pops up on its own and tells a story with the MOC... All in all this is incredibly creative. I am quite impressed. I am sure quite a few people will be blogging this!

Really cool creation. This is one of those things you have to share with non-AFOL's and call people in from another room to watch the video. I like how it opens by itself and has an exterior and interior that are both pretty detailed. I'd be tempted to use the design you have and make other pop-up scenes from Classic-Castle, Harry Potter, Robin Hood, etc, etc. Great job and good luck in the contest. Oh, and congrats on getting featured on TBB.

There are two turntables on each side to hold a long plate. On this plate, there is some Image and Image in the wall.
And in the middle of the wall, there is this : Image to articulate the wall.

The rest is just mechanic ! Try with a piece a paper you will see. At the beginning I had hard time to figure out how it works.
