My entry for the Local Challenge LC16 First Snow - which is also my entry for the CCCXI "A Child's Life" category. This is set after my next moc which is part of a collab with Crazy Crownie Guy aka Captain Rufus Song of Hallfrost (which I have to build ).

After parting ways with his oath-brother Rufus Song, Cedric Archer made his way to Falkenborg but did not stay long. He traveled through the night, leaving the highlands of Lenfald behind as he entered the foothills of Garheim. He had bypassed Ugleheim to avoid being recognized by the Queen's Men posted in the border town, a danger he had been warned of. As he continued north towards Orevale, Cedric passed through a small town, though he could not read the name on the sign at the crossroads; it had snowed in the night and the sign was plastered with it.
Gravel and ice crunched underfoot as he made his way through the outskirts of the little town. He kept his hood up to avoid being recognized as the trail wound its way past a stone watchtower. The guards up top would have to look straight down to see him, but they seemed too busy to care, anyways.
"Tall are the cliffs, Hrum ho! Deep is the snow, Hrum ho!"
"...mumble mumble... I'll show you deep snow."
Look at those children having fun thought Cedric. It reminds me of my time in Hallfrost with Rufus as a child, before I was squired by Lord Elson. He used to ambush me with snowballs from a fort he'd made then I'd tackle him and rub snow in his hair! But that was so long ago. What will Garheim be like now that the Evil Queen has taken over? I wonder if Orevale still stands. And I wonder about Layton and Byron... and Amura and her wolf, Shadow, and my wolf, Diamond. Then he glanced again at the children at play, smiled, and continued north. To Orevale.
